APB Reloaded Updates

Published on June 8th, 2011

Today GamersFirst has unveiled their plans for the future of , which includes three new districts and massive 20 versus 20 clan battles.

The first new zone feeds into the new Clan Warfare game-mode which pits 8-20 man teams against competing clans in purpose-built deathmatch arenas, with the final goal to own the district by topping the area’s rankings.

The second district, centres around racing where players will be able to compete against other quick drivers with their own customised vehicles, while being able to use APB’s vast array of weaponry against their rivals.

And the final zone takes place in an abandoned facility outside San Paro with Criminal and Enforcer factions continually fighting for ownership in an area optimised for, "close-quarters combat".

"Continuing the ‘wide open communication’ policy we have with our community, this roadmap hints at completely new ways of playing the game," revealed Bjorn Book-Larsson, Chief Operating Officer of GamersFirst.

"APB Reloaded is a player conflict-driven MMO, so while the original open district missions with four-player groups was a good starting game mechanic, adding large scale ranked clan fights and completely new mechanics like racing enhances the game’s long term appeal and also helps it reach a wider audience. The improved matchmaking system will also provide a better experience for players of all levels."

No dates were confirmed for when the above updates will hit APB Reloaded, but seeing as the game is currently in open beta their introduction should be a ways off.

MMO developers rarely show their hand when it comes to updates before an effort has been officially launched, but this announcement confirms GamersFirst’s intent to ensure APB Reloaded sticks around for along time to come.
