Overnight NCsoft announced what in-game events are being planned for Aion to celebrate the subscription MMO’s second year anniversary.
In total there will be six different events, each of which will be familiar to experienced players.
First up there’s the ‘For War and Glory AP Event’ which increases the amount of AP earned from slaying monsters in the Abyss and Silentera Canyon, which will run until September 28th. Then there will be a ‘Behind Enemy Lines’ rifting event which removes the defensive buffs in the Heiron and Belusian area of the gameworld and that runs until October 10th.
Both of these events will coincide with increased XP and increased drop rates which went live on servers yesterday and will remain in place until the end of the celebrations.
The big marquee event however is the ‘Ascension Festival’ which is on from now until October 26th and revolves around gathering special Ascension Energy which can be used to trade for costumes, hats and gift boxes. Even some major settlements are kitted out in celebratory garb, so it’s a good idea to check in and see what’s going on.
The ‘Picking Up the Past’ event is also still in full swing.
If you’re still not interested in getting back into the world of Aion, this may tempt you. NCsoft are reactivating all game accounts in good standing for ten days, so they can join in the celebrations and those who return will receive a “treasure heap of sweet loot” in their inventory.
