Why hello there summertime, boy have we missed you! A time of year when traditional games are put on the back-burner while MMOs are given a chance to shine.
This month we have plenty of games which should tempt you to refuse your daily dose of Vitamin D, including yet another look at Funcom’s fantastically original The Secret World, and we have a few moments with Runes of Magic’s latest major update. Both of these titles fall under the label MMORPG, but their design and gameplay approach couldn’t be any more different from one another. Speaking of different, we also put the imaginative MOBA Super Monday Night Combat through its paces and discover that all is well with the world when you control an aristocratic gorilla or a softly spoken bazooka-packing anime girl.
If that wasn’t enough, to round off this surprisingly diverse pic’n’mix bag of online entertainment, we also have F1 Online, a racer which seeks to emulate the thrill of driving a 200mph dream machine without forcing the player to leave a browser. Sounds impossible right? Yeah that’s what we thought too…
