Hi-Rez Studios promise a refresh of their shooter MMO with a new PvP focus.
Usually new game announcements are glamorous affairs with beer, hookers, blackjack and glitzy celebrities surrounding a CEO in an expensive suit declaring joyfully that yes indeed that sequel you always wanted is in fact in development. That hasn’t been the case with Global Agenda 2…
Hi-Rez Studios has gone for a much more understated approach with their third person MMO shooter (soon to be) series, announcing a sequel via an understated post on the official Global Agenda forums.
“Several months ago we sent out Surveys and got responses about what players would like to see improved most in GA and how it should be released. The majority of the responses were to release a new version of GA ‘GA2′ with a PvP focus and make that as good as possible,” stated Shadow Control, a senior member of Hi-Rez Studios’ development team.
“So we are currently in the process of making that game. We will use a lot of the GA assets, some of the maps, and some of the game modes. We plan to add new maps, game modes, class weapons, and build it all on our newest platform.”
“We expect to start Beta testing GA2 (or whatever we end up calling it) by the middle of next year.“
So is Global Agenda 2 really a full blown sequel, or just an excuse to repackage the original game as new with a few improvements chucked in for good measure? Massively asked Hi-Rez COO Todd Harris and he explained that Global Agenda 2 will be, “a completely new game.”
Confused? Yeah we are too if we’re being honest, but we hope to get the skinny on this new shooter MMO over the coming weeks. Stay tuned…
