This blog is dedicated to the Lord of the Rings Online, Shadows of Angmar. LOTRO (as it is known) is a MMO game based on the works of Tolkien (if that sounds like gibberish, take a look at the "Newbie" section for more info). It is intended to give people who have not played an MMO game before a way to find out about how LOTRO plays and about how to get into the game without feeling completely at sea. It won't, however, treat you like an idiot.

This blog is sub-section of the GamerZines website, which is a portal primarily designed for the distribution of free digital magazines about videogames. The magazines are produced in PDF format, enhanced with multimedia and video. All you need to do is download an issue.

My adventures in LOTRO
Articles in this category chart my own gameplay experiences and things I've noted while playing the game. Hopefully they are interesting enough to read in their own right, but I try to ensure that they don't read "I went here and killed this", but relate what my experience taught me about the game or about MMO gaming in general. In other words, read these posts if you want a bit of entertainment and to get a feel for how Shadows of Angmar plays.

Newbies
Not a term of scorn, but one of endearment, because I am a relative newbie to MMO gaming too. Read my first entry as to why I haven't played an MMO before. This section details terms and gameplay aspects particular to MMO games like LOTRO, so if you don't know what a "tank" is, or run away when someone offers to "buff" you, then take a look here. I'll add to this section regularly to extend it, so if there's a term that you'd like explained, drop us a line.
