About meMy name is Dave Taylor and I am the Publishing Director of GamerZines. I started out my career in videogames and technology journalism fifteen years ago upon leaving university by landing a job on Amiga User International. Thanks to a lucky break, I got a badly paid job as a Staff Writer reviewing games. Having played videogames since the 70s, getting paid to do it seemed like the ideal way to avoid any real work. Since then I have largely managed to continue in this vein, working for Future Publishing Ltd for nearly a decade and ending up as Group Publisher there. I launched magazines such as Windows XP: The Official Magazine and Digital Camera. In fact, I've lost count of the magazines I launched there, but it was fun. I left Future and set up Cranberry Publishing (which owns GamerZines) in 2004, though for a while I was lured off to be the Publishing Director for Highbury Publishing (Future's competitor) where we launched magazines such as X360 and Go Play. Gaming has always been a passion and as well as being a self confessed technology geek, I continue to game pretty much every day on PC, Xbox 360 and PSP. LOTRO presented itself as the ideal MMO to start playing MMOs as I've always resisted purely because of the time involved. The lure of Middle Earth proved too much though.
