The Book 10 patch has now gone live. As I did last time, I had pre-installed the update files, so the game simply had to authenticate them when I started it up. This took a long time, but wow, it's worth it. This patch makes a lot of changes to LOTRO itself as well as adding the new quests in. The first thing to notice is that the icons have been re-drawn. My Quickslot toolbar looked completely different and at first I thought my skills had been changed, but then I realised that the skills were the same, but with new icons, which takes a bit of getting used to. Along the same lines, some of the items have had their icons redrawn too. The next thing that I noticed was when I went to the Hunter Trainer to sell some items and spotted that he had a quest ring above his head. Very strange, because he didn't have a quest before and I hadn't levelled up. When I spoke to him, he offered me a Hunter quest - that's right, now LOTRO has class quests as well as craft quests. Cool.
