It appears LOTRO turns off that filter by default, so you have to turn it on manually, or else Passage of Nature appears to do absolutely nothing, and you'll wonder why you've bought it! It actually turned out to be a useful skill almost immediately, as I was sent off to find some boar meat. Nice and easy when you can get the map to tell you where the animals are. Trackback(0)

| For me, the filter's default mode was to show animals that had been tracked. The same was true for the crafting nodes. I have heard that there are people that have those items turned off by default in their filters. It makes me wonder if they just accidentally changed their filter at some early point in the game. You'll find that almost anything in the game has an option for configuring. A lot of time people also don't realize they've changed the option that shows their title to themselves... |

Having levelled up in LOTRO, I received the new skill Passage of Nature for my Hunter. You get Passage of Nature at level 12, and it allows you to search the ground for tracks. Then a dialog pops up and shows animals that are nearby so you can select one and track it. After that the skill needs a cooldown period before you can choose a new animal to track. Once you've selected an animal, it should appear as a red target symbol on your mini-map and on the main map. However, when I first used it, I selected the animal and nothing happened. When I pressed M and looked on the map, I realised I could see the animal, but not on the mini-map, so I right clicked on the mini-map and looked in Filters and sure enough "Tacked Animals" was not checked. Once I'd ticked "Tracked Animals" in the filter, then the Passage of Nature Skill worked correctly.
