Final Fantasy review PSP

Final Fantasy review for Sony PSP

Adapted and re-released for the PSP is Playstation classic Final Fantasy. It's a chance for UK gamers to get a glimpse of the enduringly popular series' roots, as the original game was never released in Europe. It's had a bit of a facelift, but the mechanics of the game remain true to the original, making Final Fantasy on the PSP a bit of a must for devotees of the series and anyone with a touch of nostalgia for gaming days gone by. So how does it stand up - can it cut it as a game in itself nearly twenty years on or is it just a retro-curiosity? Find out more in our Final Fantasy review for PSP.

Final Fantasy 2 review PSP

Final Fantasy 2 review for Sony PSP

As the original Final Fantasy is adapted and released for the PSP (and also reviewed in this issue), so too is its sequel Final Fantasy II. A departure from the original in many ways, Final Fantasy II makes a good companion game for those picking up this Playstation classic on the PSP. Does it stand up as a game in its own right though, or is it only worth the time as a follow on to Final Fantasy itself? Find out what we think in our review of Final Fantasy II for the Sony PSP.

Asterix at the Olympic Games preview DS

Asterix at the Olympic Games preview for Nintendo DS

This being an Olympic year, what better time to have a look at the games in ancient times - well, one version of them anyway. In Asterix at the Olympic Games, out on the DS this spring, you'll follow the diminutive Gaul and his sidekicks through the ancient games, taking part in a variety of sporting events. We've gone hands on with the game this month and it works pretty well on the DS, both visually and in terms of gameplay. Asterix at the Olympic Games is a spin off from this year's film, and from what we've seen it promises to be a whole lot more satisfying experience than its movie inspiration.
