The Sims in its many and various incarnations has been a huge hit with gamers over the years, and the latest variation on the Sims theme is MySims for the Nintendo DS. MySims has quite a different look and feel to the classic Sims games - with simplified gameplay, plenty of minigames and appealing avatars, it's likely that this game will appeal more to the younger gamers out there than to the original Sims fans. There’s absolutely no disguising it… MySims is EA’s Animal Crossing. Yet while it contains many elements that made Wild World so great, it fails to capture the essence of that game, leaving you disappointed at what could have been.

It’s a shame, as it starts off with great promise. You arrive at a seaside resort, where you’re asked to help try and improve what’s become a rundown little town – evidently the residents are to o lazy to do it themselves. Anyway, this means talking to your fellow townsfolk and assisting them with their jobs. The florist will ask you to plant tulips to beautify the surrounding area, or you could help patrol the streets as a policeman’s assistant.
