Dead Head Fred preview for Sony PSP
The Fred of the title is private detective Fred Neuman, who is violently killed and then brought back to life minus his head. Naturally a bit miffed at this turn of events, he attempts to solve his own death while wreaking a terrible revenge on the mobsters who relieved him of his bonce.

What do we know?
It's from the makers of the truly brilliant handheld brainteaser, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords. And this certainly looks like being another smash for Vicious Cycle. Just as their previous game blended an addictive tile-matching puzzler with the stat-building and story of a decent RPG, so Dead Head Fred mixes the action-adventure, platform and survival horror genres perfectly. That's partially thanks to the unusual Fortiesinfluenced setting, but mainly down to the central gameplay mechanic, where Fred can collect and use enemy heads with different powers to progress through the levels.
