Out later this month, Sega Rally brings all of the best aspects of the arcade game to your handheld - with plenty of tracks and lots of multiplayer and wi-fi features. Updating a classic arcade game is often fraught with danger, as what was genius 10-15 years ago is often translated into something that's clearly failed to keep up with the times. Thankfully for Sega though, that's a criticism that we don't think will be levelled at Sega Rally. Taking the super-smooth handling of the original arcade game and bolstering it with a wide range of tracks (which are neatly split up into eight different environments), a much greater selection of cars and some original features, and the signs are extremely positive indeed. Sega is making much of the game's course ‘Deformation'. What this basically means is that the more the courses are driven on, the more surface damage will appear. Tracks show up on the snow on the Alpine courses and deep grooves litter the Tropical and Canyon routes. The more ruts and grooves that appear on the tracks, the trickier it becomes to find the best line.
