SpiderMan 3 review - DS
In the wake of this summer's Spiderman 3 blockbuster movie, all the major games platforms have featured a SpiderMan 3 game, and the DS is no exception. You control Spidey as he swings through the city on a series of missions, slinging webs and fighting enemies ranging from minor crooks to super-villains. The game follows the movie for the most part, and the translation to the DS is pretty effective. We've played the game extensively this month and can tell you all about it. SpiderMan 3 review for Nintendo DS
In line with current Hollywood
trends the hero of the latest Spider-
Man movie goes all moody and
gets himself a black costume. We
blame Marilyn Manson for this
shocking corporate adoption of all
things Gothic. We’re not about to give
away major plot spoilers but what does
this mean in terms of Spider-Man 3 the
videogame? A rage meter.
Yep, it’s hardly the most stunning
gameplay innovation but at least it
shows the developer had a copy of the
script. In fact, quality is evident
throughout this game, from the
glorious scrolling cityscapes to the
focus on stylus touchscreen combat.
And it’s here where the game comes to
life. With your left thumb solely in
charge of Spider-Man’s dynamic webslinging
the right hand is free to make
stylus gestures on the touchscreen to
take out assailants. While it might
sound a little awkward it’s actually a
beautifully implemented system. Click here to read the full SpiderMan 3 review for Nintendo DS now!
