Star Wars Force Unleashed preview PSP DS

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed preview for PSP and DS

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is going to be the first real game on the Wii to allow you to wield the controller as a lightsaber, but the game is coming on all platforms, so without this (incredibly) unique selling point, can the DS and PSP versions prove as attractive. We take a hands-on look at Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and see if the game can survive, sorry benefit from, the input from George Lucas himself. Read our preview of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed in this issue.

The Simpsons Game preview PSP

The Simpsons Game preview for Sony PSP

The Simpsons are not new to videogames, but this time around there has been the input from the original writers of the series and we are going to be treated to a series of different scenes where each part plays on the history of videogames in the way The Simpsons is known for playing on movies. It works well, with EA's own Medal of Honor series getting the Medal of Homer treatment. Blending The Simpsons humour with videogames is looking very fun indeed, and we have a hands on preview of The Simpsons for PSP in this issue.

The Golden Compass preview PSP

The Golden Compass preview for Sony PSP

The Golden Compass game is based on the massive selling Gold Compass book and forthcoming Gold Compass film. What's amazing from what we've seen is how close the PSP version of the Gold Compass game is to the home console versions. With the success of the Harry Potter games surely upmost in the developers and publishers minds, it's clear that in The Golden Compass they want to provide universal appeal and a quality of game that will bring everyone back for the inevitable sequels. For more information on The Golden Compass, read this month's preview and exclusive developer interview.

Advance Wars Days of Ruin preview DS

Advance Wars Days of Ruin preview for Nintendo DS

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is the sequel we've all been waiting for, praying for, sending letters demanding, getting restraining orders because of. You get the picture - we're excited about Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. The game has cut back on the super powers of Dual Strike, so we're hoping for a more stripped back and even more exciting gameplay. Read our First Look of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin to find out more about how the game is shaping up.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 preview DS

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 preview for Nintendo DS

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is, amazingly, the sequel to the under appreciated Rayman Raving Rabbids. A great game that brought good platforming to the DS, the Rayman Raving Rabbids series is looking to become a bone fide handheld franchise in the same way it has been on the home consoles. This time around, Rayman Raving Rabbids promises more innovative use of the DS stylus, which looks interesting as the original was a good game, so an improved version has us very excited indeed. This issue has a first look at Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 for DS for more information.

Secret Agent Clank preview PSP

Secret Agent Clank preview for Sony PSP

Secret Agent Clank is a PSP Ratchet and Clank game without Ratchet. The game sees you taking Clank to find out who has framed Ratchet for a crime he hasn't committed. It uses the action adventure gameplay and indeed engine as other Ratchet and Clank games, so you know you're in for a treat. Secret Agent Clank is surprisingly far along in development, so while a release date hasn't been set, we expect to see it sooner rather than later. To find out more about Secret Agent Clank, read the first look in this issue.

SOCOM Tactical Strike review PSP

SOCOM Tactical Strike review for Sony PSP

The SOCOM squad-based shooters generally require more thought than just 'aim, fire, keep shooting' and the latest iteration, Tactical Strike is no exception. Out now on the PSP, SOCOM: Tactical Strike requires you to think ahead and use stealth and strategy to steal a march on your enemy and is likely to keep you engrossed for hours. SOCOM fans will see a big difference in this game however: while the previous games in the series have been first-person shooters, Tactical Strike puts you in the role of the boss of the squad, and the action happens in the third person. This is a big change for the game - will it be a change for the better? Read our SOCOM Tactical Strike review for the PSP now!
