Raynor’s Raiders steal the Odin so that they can use it to publicly broadcast Arcturus Mengsk’s war crimes.
The Mission Begins
Tychus will be your guide in this level. Hotkey your team and follow him into the base. There are some weak threats to contend with along the way. Tychus will do most of the work, but if you focus on the bigger units you’ll get through this section easily until Raynor gives you some base facilities. You’re introduced to the Wraith in this mission. These units have a cloak ability and are very effective against Battlecruisers. Get to work immediately on building a tech lab so you can build more Wraith at your base. A couple of Battlecruisers will attack but your Wraith will see them off easily. You can decloak the Wraith during this mission, which you should do anytime that you’re not involved in a battle, that way you’ll conserve their battery energy.
Tychus will rush ahead taking out the enemy forces, but he’ll take damage so you should have some SCVs available to repair the Odin. The first base is a breeze. Tychus will take out most of the enemy but you should also use your Wraiths to target everything in the base. You’re going to have to battle through four bases in total, but your own base will be attacked too. Get working on building up your base and protecting it. Also build more Wraiths. Put marines in the bunkers and build some powerful Goliaths to help protect the base. Do what you can building and protecting your base as quick as you can because Tychus will continue to press forward to the next base.
At the second base, you’ll face a larger threat. Use the Wraiths to target the aerial threat as priority, followed by the bunkers. Use the SCVs to repair Odin when needed. In the third base you’ll face a Siege Tank workign alongside Diamondbacks, Vultures, Marauders, Banshees and a Dominion Battlecruiser. Here you should get rid of the Siege tank first with your Wraiths before it does too much damage to your marines. Then target the Battlecruiser, bunkers and air-targets. After each base don’t forget to decloak your Wraiths to re-charge them. At the fourth base bring in a mix of units, but send in the Wraiths first to clear the way, There’s a Loki in this base, if you’ve got a large army consisting of 5 or more Wraiths you should be able to take it down and earn an acheivement, otherwise steer clear. Remember to repair your Odin after each base attack.
At the fifth base, you’ll come up against a Battlecruiser plus other flying units. You need to really protect the Odin here so use your Wraiths and make sure you have SCVs to repair. Target the Battlecruiser as a priority!
