Star Trek Online: Tips

1. This is a good tip for when you are trying to get the upper hand in ship battles. Place you most powerful torpedoes in the rear of the ship, especially if you are a cruiser, as it is much easier to turn away from the enemy to get a decent shot in. You should also try to stay to the side of your enemy during battle, as whilst they will still be able to shoot you with their regular beams, they won’t be able to hit you with any of their powerful torpedoes.

2. If you want a tougher fight, group up, then Dreadnought or Romulan Scimitar spawn. Dreadnoughts are great fun and are a good team building exercise for all you Fleet Admirals out there.

3. When in an Escort, you should use photon torpedoes as you will always be facing your enemy and they have the highest DPS. If your in a Cruiser you will want the highest damage torpedoes you can get, one in both the front and back of your ship. Higher damage torpedoes have less DPS because they have a longer cool down, however as you turn so slowly this doesn’t matter. In a Science ship, my advice is to go with quantum’s as they do good damage and DPS, and as you are more manoeuvrable than a cruiser but less so than an escort they are the best weapon choice.
