There are many different ways to play through Splinter Cell Conviction. This walkthrough is how we played the game. There will be many other strategies you can follow. In the second part of our Walkthrough we look at level three, Price Airfield.
PRICE AIRFIELD
- Synopsis
Sam is transported to a private airfield on the outskirts of Washington DC, operated by PMC Black Arrow. Grim covertly frees Sam, leveraging knowledge she has about his daughter to force Sam to investigate a plot involving stolen weaponized EMPs. Before he can track down the stolen Russian tech, however, he has to escape from the airfield.

Move immediately to cover on the right hand side of the fighter jet. You’ll see one guard patrolling the area. Watch his movements. He’ll go out of sight disappearing to the right hand side. If you follow him immediately around the corner he stands still for a few seconds allowing you to execute a hand-to-hand takedown, or grab him as a shield. As you move around the corner you’ll also see two guards chatting on the left. If you chose to grab the guard you can use him as a shield and simply walk towards these two guys and take them down with your weapon. Alternatively, you should be able to mark and execute at least one of them, providing you executing a stealth takedown for the first guard. These guys drop MP5s and bullets, but they don’t have sound suppressors so you will be heard if you use them. You’re now free to pick up the C4 which you’ll need to plant on the chopper. Follow the objective marker up the stairs until you reach the door.

Above the door you’ll see a light. Don’t shoot it otherwise you’ll alert the guards and it’s easy to become quickly overwhelmed. Peak under the door and you’ll see that there are numerous guards patrolling the hangar. The one right behind the door will move from his position quickly, so bash open the door to execute him before he has the chance. There are six guards inside. If you back out of the door, just to the right hand side, two or three of them will ahve been alerted by you bashng the door open and will come toward you through the doorway. You can hand-to-hand kill them one at a time as they pass through. Move into the warehouse. You can mark and execute some of the guards here. You’ll also see two aircraft parts dangling from the ceiling. You can send these crashing down on the enemy. You can also shoot out the lights in the warehouse to give yourself cover and then move around the environment to executed silent takedowns. Move to the chopper and plant the C4. You’ll now be tasked with disrupting the power control relay.
Move toward the objective marker. You can open the next two doors safely without fear of being confronted. Move forward until you find the weapon stash. A new lazer sight for your MK.23 is a decent purchase that will give you greater accuracy. Move toward your objective marker slowly. There are five guards patrolling the area, but there are plenty of cover spots and lights that you can shoot out to provide cover. You can use a combination of stealth kills and mark and execute kills to see off the guards. This is a good place to get some stealth headshots (10 of these and you’ll rack up some points by completing a PEC Challenge.) As you move through the yard you’ll unlock Frag Grenades. If you like, you can wait for a bunch of guards to come looking for you and then gain multiple kills. Head toward the barracks following the objective marker. You can climb through windows of the buildings to avoid detection.
Hand-to-hand takedowns silent but deadly
Before you reach the barracks you’ll have one more guard to kill before you get inside. He’ll be patrolling slowly, so you can just wait around the corner and then stealth kill him when he walks past. They’ll be another guy in the building. If you move around the outside of the building you can take him out with a headshot from the window. Move inside and disrupt the power relay. Follow the sign where it says “Reach Grim’s Car.” If you have any points to spend you’ll find another weapon’s stash here. You can mark more than two targets with some weapons so check what each weapon can do before you purchase it. Okay, you now need to plant some C4 on the satelitte dish, so follow the objective marker. Watch out for the opening on the east side where a guard will be patrolling, stick to the west to avoid him. Move right down to the far end of the area where you can enter the room on the right hand side with the jet. Be careful, there are a half a dozen or so guards in here. Use cover for stealth kills. You can lure them to your position with EMP grenades, get some stealth headshots, or throw in a frag grenade for quick kills. Make your way to the far end of the hangar toward the objective marker. Plant the C4 on the satellite dish and get prepared to get the hell out of there.
Back into the hangar and you’ll now see a lot of guards sweeping the area. If you’ve got frag grenades now’s the time to use them. Otherwise keep out of sight or else you’ll be overwhelmed. Take out as many lights as you can in the hangar. There’s loads of cover in here so just move around avoiding the torches and taking the guards out. As soon as you’ve taken a couple down you should be able to navigate your way out of the hangar while avoiding further confrontation. Move across the yard toward the objective marker. Shortly after you hear Anna’s voice you’ll come across four more guards patrolling. Mark and execute, or headshot kills will get you through quickly. Move toward the building that says “Destroy Gate Security System.” Peak under the door and you’ll see a guard. You can mark and execute him by moving around the right hand side of the building to get a clear shot. Disrupt the security system. Leave the building and exit through the gate just outside. A cut-scene will kick in. You’ve made it!
