Welcome to the complete walkthrough for Resistance 3. In this guide, we’ll give you strategies and tips on how to beat the Chimera and advise you on how to tackle some tricky big boss fights. We’ll also point you in the right direction to find every JOURNAL in the game.
Near the start of this chapter you get introduced to the Marksman rifle. The Marksman fires a three-round ion burst at great speed, and it’s alternate fire shoots out a small autonomous drone which fries short electric bursts at a singular nearby target. Time to test it out against some Hybrids.
In the next area, Hybrids will attack from all angles, so try using the secondary fire of your Marksman to fry multiple enemies. Watch out for Dropships above. There’s plenty of cover, so use it wisely to stay out of the way of Dropship fire. Watch for where the Dropships are putting down Hybrid and ensure you’re facing that way otherwise you’ll get attacked from the sides or behind.
The Longlegs are tricky to pin down because they can jump huge distances. The best way to get rid of them is by tagging with the Bullseye. The tag acts as a tracking beacon for the primary fire bullets and unless something physical is in the way, the bullets will not miss. You can’t totally win this battle, so when prompted back-track into the building (follow objective marker). Navigate through the rooms, watching out for any Hybrid until you reach the ladders.
Get to the roof and grab ammo. The best tactic here is to keep on the move. A Brawler appears and he’s very fast, so keep circling him and don’t get too close otherwise you’ll get caught with his grenade attacks
Aim for his shoulders to take him down – concentrate sustain bursts of fire. Once these have burst, aim at his arms and then for his middle section. Target all parts that glow. Once he’s down, head toward the church.
