are optional side-quests that can earn you fame and honor as well as bag you some extra cash. We’ll be adding to this guide regularly so be sure to check out the main Red Dead Redemption guide page for other Stranger Missions and tips.

This mission is called “” and is unlocked when you complete the main mission “The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed.”

Where to find it?

Head for the train station platform at Blackwater. You’ll have revenge on your mind as you speak to a federal agent about the whereabouts of Agent Edgar Ross.

Task

You learn that Edgar Ross has retired and is shacked up with his wife on Lake Don Julio. Find him and kill him.

Tips

Just follow the purple blip on the map to find the lake. A purple ? icon will appear when you get close telling you the whereabouts of the cabin. After talking to the woman outside you learn that Edgar Ross is hunting around the San Luis River. Follow the purple circle again to Rio Del Toro, near to Chuparosa. Follow the ? icon to the man who is polishing his gun. When you talk to him you find out Edgar Ross has gone duck hunting.

Follow the purple ? to the riverbank. After approaching the man prepare yourself for a duel. Don’t bother trying to kill Edgar before the duel, you’ll just lose the mission and might not be able to replay it. You’ll need to land a fatal shot, so aim for the head. If you do lose, you’ll be able to retry. Loot his body at the end of the credits for $400.
