You know it may sound like a given, but a game inhabitated by suicidal robots wielding katanas is actually rather dangerous, not to mention a bit intimidating. Plain Sight features some of the fastest combat to be seen on any platform and at first it can seem a bit overwhelming, don’t worry though GamerZines is here! We’ll set you on the right track to becoming the ultimate deathmatch warrior and with these beginners’ tips the competition won’t know what hit them.
Wait for a Positive Lock:
Plain Sight is all about the lock-on mechanic. Targeting enemies and waiting for the yellow reticule to turn red represents the only way you’ll get kills and thus climb up the leaderboard. It can be frustrating during the early minutes of a match, but persevere as it only takes one hit for a kill.
Always target those with points:
Everyone in Plain Sight has to commit suicide before their points tally is registered. Tally’s increase whenever a player kills or collects stars forcing them to change colour and become larger. As a result these more effective warriors immediately stand out emitting a different coloured trail to everyone else. Make sure you target these players ASAP because they’ll want to find a quiet spot to self-detonate where they’ll be standing relatively still for a precious second or two, allowing you to swoop in and steal all their hard earned points via a quick attack.
Upgrade whenever possible:
Make sure you utilise upgrades via the menu by pressing the space bar between spawns. There’s a plethora of abilities to upgrade, but you can’t go wrong with the shield which can repel attacks, and the early warning system which indicates when you are being targeted. If you aren’t getting any kills don’t worry, as in time everyone accumulates a smaller points total to even out the playing field.
Don’t be afraid to switch targets:
When getting repeatedly slain by one or two combatants, it becomes incredibly easy to go out of your way and just hunt those who’ve insulted your honour. Forget about them, focus on the targets closer to you instead by pressing the switch target key . Doggedly chasing one opponent will inevitably lead to a quick death, whereas continually switching targets allows for swift kills before an opponent even realises you were hunting them.
Keep Moving:
A stationary robot is a dead robot in the fast paced world of Plain Sight. Never let yourself get stuck on some levels’ sticky surfaces, as they can make you easy prey to other players. Try and make your movement as unpredictable as possible incorporating back flips and reverse movement. Maintaining speed and your own security whilst keeping a lock on other players is what this game is all about, master this and you’ll be untouchable.
