The Care Package (4 kills) and Emergency Airdrop (8 kills)
killstreaks are a great addition to the Modern Warfare franchise. Follow these simple tips to avoid frustration and make the most of these little gifts from heaven.
Look Up – It only takes a second to check your crate is not going
to spend the rest of the match sitting on a bridge, roof or tree just
annoying everybody. You’ll also probably save yourself getting killed
while desperately trying to see where it landed. Remember, everybody
can see it on the map!
Look Down – For a precision drop, simply throw the canister as close
to your feet as possible. You might want to take a couple steps back
at this point as they’re unsurprisingly dangerous to try and catch.
This trick can really come in use when you need to drop your crate
through a skylight on Terminal.
Go Fishing – Crates make great bait for greedy opponents trying to
get their grubby.. er.. fins.. on your hard-earned prize. Find a good
spot overlooking an open area and then toss your canister a good
distance away. You’ll need to have your mic on and ask your team mates
kindly not to steal it. Then simply watch and wait as the unsuspecting
fools become your prey! A great spot for this is in any corner of
Wasteland armed with a thermal scope.
Challenges – There are 2 challenges for killing an enemy with a
crate, “Heads Up!” and “Droppin’ Crates”. The first can be
achieved by doing this at any time during a game and the second needs
to be a game winning killcam. Your best bet is finding a camper so
engrossed in what he’s doing he doesn’t notice you rolling your
canister behind him. And lets be honest, those campers deserve it!
Last thing to remember is that kills from whatever you find in your
crate don’t count towards your killstreak. That said, with proper use
they can greatly increase your kill/death ratio in your favour and
turn a game on it’s head.
