When mining concentrate on getting Element Zero and Platinum as these are the main elements used for research. The other elements usually come when you mine for the above two and are also found in crates etc. within mission levels. The best planets that have Element Zero and Platinum are planets that mention either Gardens or Eezo in the planet description which pops up when you travel to each planet. I found Planet Watson which is in the Sigurd’s Cradle, Skepsis Cluster to have loads of Element Zero.
