This is the final chapter in this episode and it’s one huge battle. You’re still on the ship but this time you’re fighting against another ship, equipped with a Canon, battery guns and a whole host of enemies waiting to greet you. Let’s do it!
Objectives
1) Seize the vessel before it escapes
You need to target the ship that runs adjacent to yours. On deck you have gun battery placements on the East and West Side and by them are T-Eng Regenerators. You can also use the lazer of the canon on the top deck. There’s a ton of rocket launchers, pile bunkers and grenade launchers lying around. For the first part you’ll need this heavy weaponry. The first thing you need to do is destroy the four wings of the enemy ship which you can see protuding from each corner. The ship moves around and you’ll have to attack the wings in twos. Once you’ve destroyed them, the ship will move around to give you a clear view of the other two. Aim for the orange glowing strip of the left hand wing and the two orange dots by the right hand wing. The canon is a decent weapon to use. Just aim the lazer at the orange bits. Before you attack the wings though, deal with the canon on the other ship. The enemy ship is identical to yours so the canon is on the upper deck in the middle. Use Rocket Launchers or use your own cannon to destroy it. The wings take quite a while to come off if everyone isn’t focusing on them, so be patient and keep applying the pressure.
Remember using the canon drains your T-Eng so make sure you top up when you can with the T-Eng Regenerators situated at the base of the canon or on the East and West decks. Once you’ve taken down the first two wings you’ll be attacked from the skies by flying VS Suits and helicopters. The lazer will kill some of them easily, but you may have to jump out and fire a couple of rockets. If the troop transport helicopters get close they’ll drop enemies onto your ship. It’s worth stopping what you’re doing for a few minutes just to clear your decks. Remember dataposts are also spawn points once you activate them and they add+500 to your battle guage so whenever you see them flagged up on your mini-map it’s worth activating them.
Follow the same principle for the other two wings as above. When the collapse you’ll be tasked with storming the ship. Your ship will get close and you can jump over the sides to get on. Your job here is to activate the control post. remember, this ship is identical to yours so the control post is situated in the room by the hatch at the rear of the ship. Before you think about jumping in there, get stocked up with ammo and grab a heavy weapon. They’ll be a mechanical spider-like VS Suit guarding the area. You can get a good look over this area without fear of getting hurt by taking up a position on the top deck in front of the canon. You can drop down from here into the room, but you can also throw grenades from here to help clear it out. Along with the VS Suited enemy, you’ll also have to contend with plenty of foot soldiers, some of whom are wearing battle armour making them tougher to knock down. It’s worth concentrating on these guys first, well after you’ve killed the VS Suit. Once the room is clear you’re safe to activate the post.
A countdown timer begins. You have to defend the area for 1 minute. Enemies will descend on you at a ferocious pace so you may want to find a position where you can’t be flanked. We stood with our back to the gate armed to the teeth with 10 Rockets launchers, a machine gun, and a host of grenades. If you do get overwhelmed, the enemy will recapture the control point, but the good news is that the seconds that you have already accumulated still count when you re-spawn, so you just need to go back, clear the area and reactivate the post. Once you’ve done that, a timer begins to tick down once again. You need to get back to your ship immediately. You’re given plenty of time to get across so there’s no real rush.
