Chapter 2 consists of two completely different areas. The first is an open area with multiple levels and it requires a lot of searching around for dataposts. The second area is the docking bay, a more confined area where you’ll come across stiff opposition from some heavily armed VS Suits. No Akrid here.
This is a huge area with multiple levels. Your task here is to find the 6 dataposts and activate them. You’ll larger come up against a mix of foot soldiers carrying anything from rifles to VS Shotguns.
1) Activate the 6 data posts
Straight up the stairs and up the ramp and you’ll get a view across the complex. There’s a rifle on the ramp which will come in handy for sniping some of the enemies that you’ll see right in front of you on a platform as you look across the complex. You’ll also see this is where the first datapost is. The enemy across the whole of this level converge around the dataposts, so if you’re ever stuck where to head to keep an eye on the mini-map for the red markers indicating enemy activity. The second datapost is on the next level up. If you circle around the area where you discovered the first datapost, you should see it appear on the map. Next to this datapost there’s a T-Eng Regenerator; a good time to top up.
Datapost 3 – South Side of Map Upper Level (you’ll encounter VS Suit attacks but you’ll come across plenty of rocket launchers and grenades lying around to help you take them out.)
Datapost 4 – Central Area
Datapost 5 – North Side of Map next to body of water (re-inforcements will arrive in speed boats as you get closer. If you stand on the water’s edge you can mow most of them down with machine gun fire before they have a chance to get off. There’s 2 VS Suits to contend with as well, so get ready to switch between heavy and light weaponry.
Datapost 6- Move East from Datapost 5 and you can’t miss it. Some more ground troops to worry about here, but nothing that light weaponry won’t sort out.
Once you’ve activated all of them it’s area complete.
You’re entering the docking area where you need to commandeer one of the vessels. There are around half a dozen VS Suits to contend with on this level, as well as foot soldiers .
1) Time Challenge – Steal A Submarine (bonus here for stealing a submarine quickly)
2) Commandeer a submarine and escape
Move through the corridor and hug the wall moving left. There’s an expanse of water to the side of you and across the water you’ll encounter some enemies. Keep moving down this side of the docking bay, you’ll see the first datapost along the way. Right to the end of this area, you’ll see 4 VS Suited enemies to the East. There’s a rocket launcher on your side. You’ll need to use it. Keep on the move because if you get shot by the powerful VS Suits here you can get knocked back into the water where you’ll die. You can’t miss the other dataposts in this level, it’s only a small confined area. When prompted jump on the submarine which is floating on the surface.
The submarine begins to move back toward the way you came. Keep an eye out right and left out of the sub because waves of enemies will appear on the sides of the docking bay shooting at you. Rifle or machine gun fire appears to be the best option here. You’ll also encounter a few enemies that whizz past you above your head in some sort of contraption and then hover over your position firing at you. These guys will cause more damage then the enemies on the sides, so kill these first. A rocket launcher will take them down immediately, but machine gun fire or shotgun fire will dispose of them in a relatively short time too. Once the sub reaches the end, the chapter is complete.
