The is the final chapter in Episode 2 and you’ll get to fight another Category G Akrid after you’ve taken out dozens of sniper wielding foot soldiers. Brace yourself for an unknown creature labelled as Akrid X.
Objectives
1) Take control of the Railway Gun
2) Activate all data posts
3) Kill Category G Akrid
There are some enemies on this level armed with lazer sniper rifles (not sure if that’s the proper term for the weapon,) but they fire a beam which makes them easy to track where there are. Best using a rifle to take these out as soon as possible. As soon you start this level move North. There’s a small opening on your left that houses some battle armour. Near to the North Wall of this facility you’ll see a data post. A helicopter will drop re-enforcements off but aside from the snipers they’re easily despatched with light weaponry.On your way to the data post you’ll spot another opening on your left with a 3 man VS Suit. There’s no real need to use the VS Suits just yet. Activate data post 1 and you’ll immediately see datapost 2 on the map. Activate that and then head to data post 3 which is situated on top of the roadway that runs above your head in this area. Okay brace yourself!
It’s time to face a Cat-G Akrid, known for now as Akrid X. It has three orange cores which are its weak spots. One on its head and two on its front legs. The fight consists of three gruelling stages so get ready for a big fight. Akrid X will emerge across the rooftops and you’ll see that he’ll often jump to the rooftops and then jump down and land on your if you’re not careful or swipe you out of the way. We found that the best time to hit him was when he went on the rooftops. For a brief moment he’ll stay still giving you the opportunity to shoot off a rocket launcher in his direction or a VS Pile Driver (this can be found on the North wall by Data post 1.) On the East wall you’ll see a couple of VS Suits that you can use and there’s plenty of rocket launchers lying around. Disc grenades are also useful as you can stick them to its weak spots. Stay out the way when he lands on the ground and pummel those orange spots with everything you’ve got.
After a while of attacking him you’ll be treated to a cut-scene in which the Akrid suffers a little bit of pain. This just makes him stronger. He now hurls fireballs at you and breathes fire through his nose, so when he heads up to the roof this time it’s best to take cover. Attack him when he’s on the ground. Use the power of the VS Suits and use that VS Pile Driver. Finally, just as you think he’s down he’ll get up again. It’s another round of pummeling him with everything you’ve got. No real tactics here just stay out the way when he attacks and wait for those moments where he appears to rest to shoot at his orange cores.

THE MAJOR PROBLEM WITH Lost planet 2 is YOU CAN’T SAVE THEN LOAD EACH MISSION,you can only save and load each episode that consists of the 3 or 4 missions. Meaning after you gave it your all beating the first 2 missions and mission 3 is a very hard boss, by the time you learn how to beat it you loose all your lives and have to restart the WHOLE episode/chaptor all over again. THAT IS WHY a save option per mission was needed ESPECIALLY WHEN PLAYING WITH NO AI and solo only.
