Our LBP2 walkthrough continues with one of the hardest levels in the game so far.
Check out this guide for tips and advice on how to get through it safely and collect all the prize bubbles.
Inside the tree it’s very dark, but fireflies light up the way. If you’re struggling to see in this level, just turn the brightness up in your settings. The fireflies buzz around like cars on a Scaletrix track. You can see the tracks they follow if you look carefully. Make a jump to a platform or bounce pad as soon as they move past you, otherwise you’ll get burnt. Timing and patience is the key to success in this level.
Switch Trigger
At the start of the level, you can place the Golden Apple sticker, which can be found at the end of the next level, Patients Are A Virtue. When you come back place the sticker, you’ll gain access to the Creatinator, which allows you to place bounce pads wherever you like. When you do return, look out for areas where you can reach higher levels and then use your bounce pads to get up there!
Watch your step, it’s very dark. Move slowly and keep an eye out under your feet for fire-pits. Jump over them onto a safe platform. In this first section, there are only three bubbles to find.
Prize Bubble 1 – Past the first checkpoint, hop up the platforms on your right, jump on the bounce pad and grab the bubble from an alcove in the wall.
Prize Bubble 2 –Past the second checkpoint, moving left, jump on the bounce pad into the alcove on the far left wall.
Prize Bubble 3 –Follow the zig-zag pattern of the tree and when you reach the next level up, on the far left you’ll see a see-saw platform. Tilt it and then run to the left edge and leap to pop the bubble.
Prize Bubble 4 & 5 – Into the light, use your reeling technique to swing onto the top of the large branch where you’ll find another two bubbles waiting to be popped.
Part Two
Jump up the bounce pads and watch you don’t get burnt. It’s just a matter of timing.

To get the bubbles on the bottom level, grab the second and third switches to change the track layout.
To get the bubbles on the middle level, grab the first and third switches.
To get the bubbles on the top level, grab all three switches.
At the next checkpoint, grapple onto the platform and use your reeling prowess to swing left and right collecting prize bubbles on the way up.
Watch out for the grab points that catch on fire for a brief moment. Time it so you grab on when the flames have disappeared.
Watch out for the red meanies. Time it so you land on the platform below when the fire has disappeared. The fire appears where the meanies walk. Wait until the meanies walk to the far right hand side before you make your move.
There are two prize bubbles to the far right on the meanies, next to the bounce pad. Make your way up to the gates of the mental asylum.
