Find out where Xolotl is waiting

This level is called “Jaws Of Death” for a reason. Shortly after you start the mission you’ll be chased by a huge monster with sharp snapping teeth. The aim here is just to keep running across the bridge, avoiding green pods and obstacles.

Immediately on your right in the starting area you’ll find the first red skull. Move up the steps and behind the stone pillar situated on the North West side of the stone circle you’ll find the second red skull. You’l also be attacked. You can back up down the steps to give yourself a bit of time. They’ll be a few regenerating skeletons that you can’t kill without the green pods, so just leave them and continue toward the bridge. If you own a Gold Feather equip it now as it will increase your speed while fleeing the jaws of the monster.

Reward Challenge – Destroy all of the enemies on the columns.
While you’re being chased this is really going to slow you down so you need to be clinical with your shooting. It’s worth equipping a weapon that you feel most comfortable with. The spear is extremely effective at taking down the enemies quickly. As you run down the centre fo the bridge you’ll see guards either side of you perched on columns. As soon as you see their blue projectiles heading your way shoot in that direction to get an early hit so you can keep on the move. Shoot them down to complete the challenge and earn the Gold Arrow.

Note – The best tactic here is to play the level through three times to unlock the Challenges. That way you can concentrate on either just getting the skulls, running to the end in less than 2 minutes, or shooting the guards from the stone pillars. Trying to do all three at the same time is very tricky!

“These walls will run red with your blood. Behold my Power” screams Xolotl as he summons the beast from behind you. Lara Croft And The Guardian Of Light Walkthrough Jaws Of Death

Time to run! Avoid the green pods because they slow the beast down if they’ve not exploded. There’s no tactic here other than to run and watch out for all the red skulls along the way – you won’t miss them! Look out for the impact switch about half-way down the bridge. You’ll need to shoot it from across the gap to trigger some wooden platforms. Also look out for the gold handle that you need to grapple onto in order to climb up the wall. Whenever you move through a doorway you’ll have a few moments of respite before the chase starts again. These offer good opportunities to compose yourself.

When you get to the gate at the end, stand on the pressure pad and then pull the gold lever. You’ll kill the beast in a spike trap and unlock the Instant Sushi award as you vanquish the summoned beast to the watery depths.

it’s possible to kill the skeleton monsters with remote bombs once they are on the ground (before they regenerate)
