Objective
Find a passage through this ancient tomb

Head through the corridor and down the steps into the main arena. Here you’ll see one rolling ball and 10 pressure pads. You need to place a rolling ball onto each of the pressure pads in order to open the gate, so first you need to find them. Take the two flights of stairs up on your right and head through the entrance with the blue flames. You’ll need to jump down to the section where you see the rolling ball. Note – Remote bombs can be used to move balls. When you hit the impact switch the stone column moves to the floor allowing you to place the ball on it. Put the ball on the column and then activate the impact switch to raise it. Now climb up the column using a spear and place a bomb just behind the ball. Move out of the way and detonate it so the blast sends the ball flying to the top platform. When you climb up the platform you’ll be attacked by ogres so make sure you’ve switched from a spear to a heavier weapon to see off the threat. You can now carry the ball to the central room and place it on a pressure pad.

Back up the flights of stairs, this time bypassing the area where you just got the first ball, heading to the top until you reach the broken bridge. Jump across. Take a right up the small set of steps and then shoot the impact switch so you can climb on the column. Shoot the switch again and then grapple onto the gold handle to get across to the next area. Watch your back, you’ll get attacked by ogres here! If you stand on the East side of this section you’ll see a red skull perched on a wooden platform below you. Just drop down the gap to pick it up. Now step on the pressure pad to bring the column down to the ground. There’s a rolling ball on it.

You can get the ball by placing a couple of spears in the column to climb up to the top. Use the pressure pad to bring the column up and down so you can place the spears in the right place. When you’re standing on top of the column, look to the West where you’ll see a small wooden platform housing a red skull.

Pick it the ball and bring it back the way you came. You’ll have to trigger the impact switch again to get it across. To get the ball into the main room just head past the broken bridge and push it through the golden archway. To get the rolling ball from the spiked pit, stand on the edges to tilt the platform to get the ball through the central hole. The ball will drop into the main hall.

Head past the ball in the spike trap and up the steps, activating the pressure pad to get through the gate. In the next room you’ll see a red skull in front of two pressure pads. When you walk on them they’ll spike. Run across them and back quickly grabbing the skull and leaping out of the way before the spikes kill you. It doesn’t matter too much if you do die, you’ll just re-spawn in this area. Now head to the Challenge Tomb on your right.

Challenge Tomb
On the right of the tomb is an impact switch. Shoot it to raise the platform in the central area. Now throw a spear at the raised pillar and jump onto it so you can climb up and claim the artefact, a Stone Arrow. Now use the grappling hook on the left hand side to get back to the other side safely.

Head out of the tomb and down the two sets of ladders, picking up the Lightweight Machine Pistol on the way, until you reach the room with pressure pads and spike traps. You need to activate the remaining spike traps without getting killed. Simply jump over the first pad and then move in a circular direction running across the pads. You’ll open a door where you’ll find the next rolling ball and you’ll also pick up the Ammo Upgrade. Roll the ball back to the main room.

As soon as you enter the main room with all the rolling balls you’re going to face your toughest battle yet. In preparation, break the urns in the room so you know where all the health and ammo supplies are located. To begin with stay to the South side of the room keeping a distance from the giant ogre. Aim to take him down as a priority as he is the toughest enemy and also causes the most damage. Just keep pummelling away and don’t be afraid to edge forward to drop a bomb and detonate it when he walks through. You should now have five balls. Place them on the pads and then head back up the right hand stairs to the cage where you had to roll the ball through the hole.

To the left you’ll see a broken bridge. Leap across it. Before you head up the short flight of stairs you’ll see some arrows firing toward you. Watch the pattern. You’ll get two sets of arrows firing centrally, one set that fires on the right hand side and then two arrows firing on the left and right sides, leaving the central part of the stairs clear. Time it so you run down the centre when it’s clear and then shift to the left to avoid the arrows when they fire down the middle. Embed a spear into the wood ahead so you can climb up to the next area.

Climb up the ladders and go into the room through the entrance with the blue fiery flames. There’s a rolling ball on top of a stone pillar. We’ll come back to this! Head up the ladders on the right hand side and enter the Challenge Tomb.

Challenge Tomb
The Scepter of Huitzilopochtli is on the opposite side to where to start the tomb. Enemies will spawn opposite you and fire at you with their heat seeking attack. Keep moving and firing, using the columns on your side for cover if you need to. When you’ve killed them all, just jump over and grab the artefact.

Out of the Tomb, head through the gateway with the blue flames. You’ll see a rolling ball on a bed of spikes. You’ll be attacked here so be on your guard. If you’ve been killing all enemies up until this point you should unlock the first two Score Challenges. In this section, you’ll also face the Reward Challenge to “Bomb a ball onto the skull pedestal.” Pull the gold lever and the spikes will retract. When they do jump on top of the ball to get the Health Upgrade. Place a bomb on it and jump off to safety. Detonate the bomb and the ball will free itself from the trap. To complete the Reward Challenge may require a lot of patience. Just keep placing the bomb right behind the ball and sending it in the direction of the altar. With patience you will do it! Now roll the ball through the golden arch into the main room.

The ball will now end up just outside the room where you saw the rolling ball on the stone pillar. Head back down toward this room and place the ball on the pressure pad to send the stone pillar rising upwards. Jump onto it to get the next ball and then take both balls out of the room and push them through the gold circle. They’ll end up in the trap where you need to navigate them through the hole in the centre. Head back down to that trap and get them through the hole so they end up in the main room.

Now head to the main room and place all the balls on the pressure pads. Stand on the last remaining pad to open the Forgotten Gate.

Escape the temple

As soon as you enter the corridor, blow up the coffins on your left and right. In the first one on your left you’ll find a red skull. This area is called Trap Hall. You’ll complete a reward challenge if you can
“Navigate the trap hall on the first attempt.” The Trap Hall is split up into sections. If the pace is too fast for you, pause between each section which gives a little bit of time to compose yourself.

1) Spike traps will shut behind him, getting faster as you run up the corridor. They will catch up with you and kill you if you’re not careful. The best way to get through this section is to keep jumping.

2) You’ll need to move across the platforms. They’ll give way after a few seconds so keep on your toes. Pick up the red skull immediately on your left as soon as you hit this section.

3) This time the spike traps will open like gates. However, there are two of them that will close shortly after. Watch for the two that shake slightly and move backwards to avoid getting killed.

4) You need to run across the platforms again which will disappear under your feet. Keep an eye out here for three red skulls. Huge stone balls will drop from the sky so watch the shadows on the platforms to avoid them. Right at the end you’ll have to jump to avoid the huge ball.

Exit through the doorway and you’ve completed the level.

your last 2 skulls – when you complete “Bomb a ball onto the skull pedestal” and roll it down to the lower level to get the next ball, you need to roll them both into the gold circle. At that circle jump across the ledge and along that pathway is the other 2 red skulls and the room for last ball to complete “All balls into the main room”.
