This is the final level in Year 3 at Hogwarts and Harry is really up against it when he comes face to face with dozens of Dementors in the Dark Tower. Check out this guide for tips on how to get past a few tricky situations.
This level starts off pretty simply. Move along the castle walls and watch out for Dementors. It’s worth keeping your Expecto Patronum spell armed as some of them appear out of nowhere, so get ready to blast them. Along the castle wall, you’ll need to blash open the small chest and use the hammer to smash down the wall blocking your way and then burn the vines with Lumos before facing another Dementor. There’s a lot of switching spells quickly in this level.
When you come to a dead end, levitate the barrel and the water inside will feed the plants that will then grow. You can’t just use them to jump up to the next level, hit them first with a spell and they’ll start spinning so you can fly up there.
When you get inside the building, you need to use both Harry and Hermoine to make your way across. Use the purple spell and keep sending the platforms to either side of the room so that the other one can cross. (look out for the small purple blocks of LEGO, that’s where you’ll have to place the platforms.) Hermoine will also have to levitate a fiery torch at one point to burn the vines holding the wooden platform.
Back outside again and there’s Dementors hovering everywhere so stay your distance and zap them with Expecto Patronum. You need to make a strength spell again, so levitate the cauldron down, you’ll find it on one of the castle ramparts and then search for the three ingredients. Shoot at the first flower pot on the left of the entrance where you came out to this area and then kill the snake. You’ll get the first ingredient here. There’s an axe by the tree on this level, which you can levitate to chop a branch off. You’re second ingredient will drop to the floor. For the final ingredient you needd to go down the next level via the ladder and levitate the winged statue so that it rests next to the other two. A window will smash and you can gain access to that room and a wardrobe where you’ll have to solve the very simple puzzle, copying the pattern. Drink the strength potion and more Dementors will come at you so kill them first.
Now go and pull that heavy chain to the left of the cauldron. Go across the drawbridge and you’ll face your final battle. This bit can be tricky if you don’t know what you’re doing. You’re going to have Dementors coming at you from all angles and one Dementor that will stay back and unleash a heavier attack. First up, get rid of all the dementors that come at you. As soon as the coast is clear use your purple spell on the bins either side of you. You’ll empty rubbish on the floor and when the big attack comes the rubbish will fly back into the bosses face and hurt him. You’ll have to do this a couple of times before he freezes them. See the statues either side of the barrels, whack them with a spell and they’ll breathe fire and melt the ice away. You can then tip the barrels over again. Keep on the move because all the time you’re trying to focus on tipping the bins over more Dementors will attack. If you’re overwhelmed just try and get rid of a couple of them and keep on the move to avoid them.
