By knowing the strengths of the Armour Lock ability you can really use it to your advantage. Check out this guide for tips on how to use it effectively.
Armour Lock is for use in defensive strategies. It creates an energy shield around you, but unlike the Drop Shield it can also deflect weapons and disable vehicles.
Armour Lock emits an EMP explosion which will destroy the shields of any enemies around making them vulnerable, especially if you have team-mates nearby. The longer you hold down your Armour Lock for the larger the range of the EMP blast will be.
You can’t take any damage whatsoever when Armour Lock is activated, but keep an eye on the metre because it doesn’t last all that long. It activates immediately, so by leaving it to the last minute before you pull the trigger you can take players by surprise.
Use it in a game with vehicles. Get in among the Ghosts and tease them in your direction. Activate the Armour Lock as they’re about to run you over and you’ll either severely damage or destroy the vehicle. Try this against any vehicle in the game.
In games like King Of The Hill, HeadHunter and Oddball the Armour Lock ability is devastating. Use it in Capture The Flag games to defend your flag. Activate it just when an enemy rushes in to grab it.
To combat the ability don’t throw grenades! They’ll just bounce back at you. Instead, wait. You need to time it perfectly to kill him. If you have a plasma grenade, use the moment where his ability wears off and he’s still bending down still to stick him.
