It’s Sahz’s turn to unlock the next Eidolon. This time the red hot Brynhildr demands your attention. This battle is actually over pretty quickly if you pull of the right moves which we are going to supply you after the break. By the way, the tiny Chocobo will not be helping you, just Vanille.
Prior to the battle you will be stuck with just Sahz which means you won’t get a change to chose your paradigms. If the paradigms you end up with are not the same as the set below then quickly press Start and select Retry. This will push you back a little bit but just before the battle starts up again the main menu pops up. Set up your paradigms;
- Sazh: Synergist / Vanille: Saboteur
- Sazh: Ravager / Vanille: Ravager
- Sazh: Synergist / Vanille: Medic
Now as you enter the battle pummel Brynhildr with debuffs while buffing up your own team. Doing this fills up the gestalt meter very quickly. Once your health goes a little low, switch and heal up. Then switch to the double Ravager and dual cast Brynhildr until his gestalt bar fills three quarters full.
Once the gestalt meter is nearly full, tap Square/X to activate gestalt mode. I think you’ll agree that it was quick and efficient. You know have Brynhildr under your command. Let’s just hope you get to use it!

does not work at all
I Can’t get Sash and Vanille to work together no matter what I do.. I managed this fight after 5 tries.. But I hate that team..
You really have to make sure that Vanille and Sazh are developed strongly in the beginning. A strong beginning is truly crucial to all characters. This Eidileon took me 2 minutes.
This does work. However I find that you have to add in another paradigm for it to work. You need one with Sazh as a Ravager and Vanille as a medic to keep your chain going. I’ve found that it helped a lot.
extreme!!! tx
thanx heaps. it took me a while with these paradigms but i got it. i reckon add the [RAV/MED] (symbosis) in it as well. really helps.
Hey you guys, I made itn the second time because Sazh had the “HASTE” ability and I used set-up described above with one change, anytime I had Vanille in the Medic mode, Sazh was hitting the Eidolon and when the “HASTE” ability ran out I switched to Sazh-Synergist, Vanille – Medic, then right back to slamming him with the two as RAVAGERS………….
This worked superbly. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
your guide doesn’t help to 30 % dude…i trying everything maybe should use doctor dome or ember rings, i don’t know.
The damn thing attacks to fast i that i cant even almost do anything…
after failing 6 times i went to look for a guide, and found this one. Tryed it and worked first time lol thanx for the tips
i did it on my 2 tire i did it in 2 min. in 41 sec. to easy that was the easiest 1
Took me 2 min and 12 sec with this plan of attack
At starting use synergist and saboteur, after that just keep attacking that shit, i set Sazh as commando and Vanille as ravager and just keep attacking that shit. When one of them is low at hp, change Vanille as medic and for Sazh just keep doing the same thing as commando. You might also need to pray because I did at the last 20 seconds before the doom kill me
Sorry i type wrongly for the last sentence. It should be i finnaly able to capture it at the last 20 seconds before doom kill me
I have tried this over 7 times and its not working. When I am leveling up, it goes to slow, the timer is counting down, and it moves to fast. Then when I attack the purple bar barely gows up, and I die. HELP PLEASE!
this guide is crap. not even close to working.
ye i didnt find it to helpfull i found that the gauge charged fastest when i dualcasted (Rav/Rav) and healed when neccecary
thx for this, did it in 2.42, altho I used rav + medic for healing
Just nailed it in 02:39 using a well easy method! Tried all these written here.. no luck.
All I used was COM/RAV, until I needed health then switched to RAV/MED, then switched back to COM/RAV when tip top again!
Standard.
This works just fine, but I had to have both chars buffed to the max before the dualcasting ravagers were able to put a big boost to the Gestault gauge. I suspect there is a buff in particular that makes all the difference, possibly faith, possibly faith in combination with the imperil and deshell debuffs.
Failed this damn thing for half an hour! But yeah, the guide helped first time (got the bugger with 7 seconds on the Doom thing)
To be honest though, I think the trick to beating these things is to use Libra, switch about the Paradigms a few times and just button mash from there:)
FF13 isn’t the greatest game ever made (Halo is!) But it can be summed in one word- Quality
Cheers again mate for the tips
Race you all to the end;)
Danny
if you cant do this fight with this guide then you suck at life
I’d use Syn/Med , Rav/Sab and Rav/Rav… chain combo attacks affer buff increase gestalt bar very fast.
i trie and try but this guide sucks is there any way to do this without buffs
i trie and try but this guide sucks is there any way to do this without buffs cuz it is hard bth it helps if you have the silver bangle and upgrade it like 50 times cuz it give you like +1000 health
sorry for double post
I kicked this guys but using only 1 paradigm
Good hint ) I do it now! ))
This tip didn’t really help, however, if you have something that you can HASTE with prior to the fight, everyone will be able to attack and move faster. That is how I managed in 1 min and 41 secs
I pissed around with this eidolon three times. Searched for a fight guide, found this one, and had the bastard beat in two minutes. Switch up your paradigms, boys, or you’ll just keep whining about how it’s too hard.
totally worked. I was trying to constantly have a rav on him at all times, having one do syn or med or sab while the other casted…no dice. This worked, just switch often and keep your haste up. Use ember rings too. Repeat: this strategy totally works. Switch fast!
This guide failed for me, and so did most of the comments, because they are all revolving around the player having overleveled and filling out currently available crys tree.
Anyhow, what worked for me was 2 ravagers one with doctor acc (the one that doubles potions), about 12 potions and just chain attack until both hps are yellow, or or gets critical then drink a potion or two to get both back to green and repeat, worked my first try. (after having failed various other methods numerous times)
this was a good guide. for those ppl bitching and complaining then ur characters are strong enough or you just suck at the game ahaha
i beat him and i just free lanced it alot….tried to keep it as much on rav/rav as i could but i took so much damage. for all you who came into this battle without any potions, phoenix downs. didnt have haste quite yet. know that its still possible
oh and i beat it at 3:00 i ddnt have another second to do it XD
It works. But it’s easier and quicker to just:
1) cast FORTISOL and AEGISOL prior to the battle
2) Equip Sazh with “Doctor’s Code *”
3) Start with Dualcasting (2 Ravagers)
4) Use potions when needed. I just used 2 potions and finished the battle in less than a minute.
Good luck
Thanks so much….got really stuck at this point, you saved the day
Wow. This is quite possibly the worst strategy I have ever seen for any game ever. It’s like telling Mario to run into Bowser at full steam. Whoever came up with this should not be allowed to write guides.
I was kind of underleveled when I started this fight, so I basically just left Sazh as Commando and put him on potion duty. As a Commando, he helped keep the stagger bar from declining to 0 every round. Meanwhile, I left Vanille as Saboteur and she pushed the Gestalt meter pretty fast on her own.
Whatever you’ve trained most is what will push the chain meter fastest, and that’s the goal of the fight. Unless you’re completely maxed out all classes, you have to use your own judgment and not just follow a guide to the letter.
I Saz should shoot that annoying slut Vanielle and then his own self. Less welfare the Sanctum would have to pay out.
Whoever wrote this shit must be a dirty CP grinder.
Most people don’t spend hours grinding for CP.
For the rest of us, Jorge’s technique is the bomb.
Awesome.
This does not work at all. Byrnfucker will desimate you before you even get of thre buffs then your screwed for duelcasting cause you have no hp
Added note try wearing those flame rings +20% magic res but regardless this fight sucks
extra help : use zash’s synergist buff : ice or something, gives the person ice attacks
since its that eidolons weakness.
+ add 20% fire resistent equipment on zash and vannile
um yeah this guide is crapolla
rav/rav then rav/med when low.
simple as that, dont waste time with syn/sab
The guide was great, only lost once cause I was trying to figure out if was suppose to be a different version of Ifrit. But agree if u cant beat it with the guide, u suck at life. Im sure there a Super Mario game more to your expectations.
Done this first try, only change I would make is to use the Ying Yang paradigm. So buff up and debuff him, then use dual casting swapping to ying yang whenever you need to heal.
Yeah, the guide ian’t very helpful. what I did was boosted up Sazh’s magick and had him as synergist for the beginning then ravenger sa the rest. Vanille would just heal Sazh or ravange with him.
I’ll make this easy for the unfortunate people that’ve tried this.
It doesn’t work unless specifically upgraded.
Bearing in mind we’ve all Libra’d “her” by now we’ve ascertained that ‘she’ submits to chains. As somebody that’s just followed the main post guide around 10 times and failed… I’ve just switched over to the ‘obvious common sense’ guide which is RAV/RAV and RAV/MED intermittent.
Job done, first time, cheers for coming, easiest eidolon yet… no offense to the person that created this guide but best thing you can do is delete it as it’s utterly misleading. That’s really not a flame, i’m basing it on numerous opinions above.:)
wow that sucks :/ whats the point in doing this??
Thanks very much mate. After having read this I nailed him first time. Anybody having trouble needs to take a look at wat their doing wrong cz this works
This did the trick. I used libra the first time just for recon… That stock paradigm setup is garbage!
This worked a treat!! I’d been struggling but as soon as I did this it worked out probably! And to others who say this isn’t working, your probably not doing it to well, don’t set sazh as a commando but a ravaged with vanille!! It works perfectly that way!
For those of you who couldn’t beat him after numerous tries cuz you are under-leveled you can in fact turn around and just kill the slime guys in the area before the doors until you are satisfied to where you are at
. Rav/rav and rav/med work best. This guide requires too much switching to be of use in the time you are given.
This was a really easy fight – just buff up beforehand…. I still had half the time left on the clock!
