The final encounter with Barthandelus!
The last boss battle is split into three sections with Barthandelus being the first part you have to tackle. Before heading off to battle, make sure to pick up two Cherub’s Crowns from the B&W Outfitters store. You won’t need them for this battle but the battle after Barthandelus. You won’t need to equip them now, so don’t worry.
Paradigms time;
- Lightning: Medic / Fang: Sentinel / Hope: Synergist- (Protection)
- Lightning: Commando / Fang: Sentinel / Hope: Ravager – (Delta Attack)
- Lightning: Ravager / Fang: Commando / Hope: Ravager – (Relentless Assault)
- Lightning: Ravager / Fang: Synergist / Hope: Ravager – (Mystic Tower)
- Lightning: Medic / Fang: Sentinel / Hope: Medic – (Combat Clinic)
Keep on protection and get as many buffs on your party as possible. You can use shrouds before hand if you so wish but you’ll want to hang onto spares for the after content. The trick with this battle is to make sure you are in the green constantly. Keeping your health in green is vital to winning this battle. When Barthandelus dishes out Thanatosian Laughter, it will bring Lightning and Hope to critical and deal significant damage to Fang. Switch to Combat Clinic each time he announces the use of this attack.
There are two other attacks which are Ultima, which deals moderate damage, and a laser type attack that isn’t anything to worry about. Just make sure you are constantly in green health.
We found using Delta Attack, Relentless Assault and Mystic Tower most effective during this battle. Don’t forget to cast libra and just keep an eye on your health. If you have not taken Barthandelus out within 20 minutes, he will cast Doom on your party leader. If this so happens, switch to Relentless Assault and take him out quickly.
