With every brand new copy of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning you unlock a special set of armour influenced by another big EA published RPG, Mass Effect 3. Unfortunately finding your bonus loot is actually trickier than it first appears as rather than just being plonked helpfully into your inventory, you’ll need to search out a very specific chest in Amalur’s giant open-world to access it.

Thankfully this challenge isn’t anywhere near as cumbersome as it first appears, as long as you know where to look, and we’ve put together some instructions and a video guide to ensure you don’t miss out. In order to use this armour you will have to invest some skill points in the Might discipline.

The 'Omniblade Daggers' will be available via Gorhart's chest when you play Mass Effect 3's impending demo.

1. Head to the village of Gorhart, the first settlement you come to after exiting the tutorial area of Allestar Tower.

2. Once in the centre of the village and surrounded by buildings, look for the Gorhart Inn.

3. To the left of the Inn’s entrance you’ll see a large chest.

4. Open it up and you’ll find Shepard’s Helm, Cuirass, Gauntlets, Chausses and Greaves.

It’s worth noting that any additional armour or weapons which are given away via cross promotional means will be located in Gorhart’s delivery chest, so be sure to keep that in mind when you get around to playing the Mass Effect 3 demo later this month.

There’s been a lot of confusion over the intended release dates for Modern Warfare 3’s upcoming DLC – and it isn’t difficult to see why.

Even though Activision’s intentions are perfectly clear – the publisher plans to drop 20 pieces of DLC between now and September – its Call of Duty Elite service (along with its divide between free/premium members) and its timed-exclusive deal with Microsoft makes the entire scenario far more confusing than it really should be.

So we thought we’d make things a bit more simple. Below is the expected release schedule for the first wave of Modern Warfare 3 DLC:

January 24th: The first two maps – Liberation and Piazza – will become available to Xbox 360 Premium Call of Duty Elite members at no additional cost.

“Shortly after” January 24th: Liberation and Piazza will be released to PS3 Premium Elite members at no additional cost.

February: Additional content released to Xbox 360 Premium Elite members. This content may consist of more maps, or additional content for other modes (Spec Ops, Campaign etc). Again, PS3 Premium Elite members will have to wait an unspecified period for this content.

March: First DLC pack released on Xbox Live Marketplace containing all content previously released for Xbox 360 Premium Elite members. This content pack will be available to everyone on Xbox Live. Although a price has yet to be confirmed, expect the pack to cost 1200 Microsoft Points. Additional content is also expected for Xbox 360 and PS3 Premium Elite members.

April: Though an official date is yet to be announced by Activision, the first DLC pack is expected to be released on PlayStation 3 and PC one month after its release on Xbox Live. Additional content is also expected for Xbox 360 Premium Elite members, again to be released to PS3 Premium Elite members at a later date.

This pattern will repeat itself twice, with new content available to Premium Elite members every month through to September 2012.

Pickpocketing is one of those skills which may not sound too attractive, yet it’s often one of the easiest ways to make money in Skyrim. As long as you have a high sneaking attribute you’ll find it easy to bypass lengthy quest-lines, poison foes and come across some really nifty easter eggs during your adventures by taking an unwelcome peak in civilian pockets.

The trainers listed below will help you in levelling up your characters’ pickpocketing attribute, but to further supplement your skills we recommend enlisting in the Thieves Guild in Riften to get some advice on how to utilise this skill properly.

Ahkari

Finding camps is unfortunately a case of waiting long enough.

Level: Adept (can train up to level 50)

Location: Ahkari’s Caravan which travels between Dawnstar, Whiterun and Riften
Extra Info: The khajiit caravans are very difficult to find as they move from city to city and stop occasionally to sell goods. Due to their roaming nature and the fact they usually only stop for a day or two before moving on we suggest not obsessing over these NPCs. However if you really want to see them, the best thing to do is fast travel to Whiterun, walk outside the city district, walk just outside of the walls and wait 24 hours until you see a camp form to the right. This can take multiple attempts, so don’t expect this to happen quickly. Alternatively, just keep an eye out for camps whenever you visit any of the above cities.

Silda The Unseen

Keep an ear out for Hilda's begging pleas for a coin.

Level: Expert (can train up to level 75)

Location: Windhelm

Extra Info: She is easiest to find during the daytime as she doesn’t move around too much, however her location does change often in the city of Windhelm. Incidentally she’s also one of the three witnesses involved in the Blood on the Ice quest, but this activity only initiates once night has fallen.

Vipir The Fleet

The Cistern room is home to more than just Vipir.

Level: Master (can train up to level 100)

Locations: Thieves Guild HQ, inside the cistern room

Extra Info: This NPC is most easily found after you’ve been accepted into the thieves guild. Just head into the cistern room and you’ll see Vipir mulling around pretending to do things…

Light armor is invaluable to any adventurer who specialises in archery or magic and to help you in your questing we’ve put together a list of every trainer associated with this often overlooked skill in Skyrim. So the next time you face a troll, dragon or another random beast you should be prepared to withstand more than just one hit.

Scouts-Many-Marshes

Marsh can be usually be found around here.

Level: Adept (can train up to level 50)

Location: Windhelm

Extra Info: During the day he can be found unloading materials in the docks outside the city of Windhelm and at night he sleeps in the Argonian Assemblage which is adjacent to the loading area. It’s very easy to get confused looking for Windhelm’s docks, the best thing to do is jump off the bridge that leads into the city and swim to the right of the entrance until you see ships docked up.

Grelka

Grelda moonlights as an armor vendor.

Level: Expert (can train up to level 75)

Location: Riften

Extra Info: She has a market stall in Riften and during daytime she can always be found selling sets of armor to passers by. At night she’s either at her house or at the local tavern. Regardless if you want training from her, it’s easier just to wait until the sun comes up.

Nazir

The Dark Brotherhood HQ is located to the west of Falkreath.

Level: Master (can train up to level 100)

Location: Dark Brotherhood HQ

Extra Info: Players can only find their way to this NPC after they have access to the Dark Brotherhood HQ. How to do that is summed up rather nicely here. After you’ve done that Nazir can be found on the lower level of the Sanctuary, however after you’ve completed a few quests for this guild, his position will change to the Dawnstar Sanctuary.

Unlike archery there aren’t any NPC’s who will give you free training when it comes to light armor. However ranking up in this level is fairly easy, you just need to get hit a lot during skirmishes without dying. Be sure to pack a lot of health potions or better yet invest in the Restoration skill path to instantly health yourself at the expense of a little magicka.

Who is Angi you ask? She’s an extremely powerful Nord archer, located on the outskirts Falkreath and she’s a key stop on your journey to become a master of the bow and arrow. Not only does she train you for free, offering up several skill points, but she also gives you a very special bow. Best of all it only takes just over five minutes to find her on horseback, so what are you waiting for?

Like all our Skyrim guides, we assume you’ve only just exited the starter dungeon and you’re hankering for a swift advancement of your skills.

Where you'll be heading.

1. Head to a horse and coach, located outside every major city, and ask to hitch a ride to Falkreath.
2. You’ll be dumped right outside the city. Now rather than venturing inside, simply follow the path to the left which leads further south.
3. If you keep on this road you’ll see Peak’s Shade Tower to your right, and an outpost which forms over a bridge on the main path. After you’ve passed this checkpoint look for two logs laid parallel to the path and an elaborate piling of stones – these should only be ten or so metres past the checkpoint. When you see this wooden formation, there will be a path directly to the right, which will take you up the mountain.
4. Keep an eye out for a stream and a bandit tent, kill the annoying blighters and carry on up the mountain by taking the pathway on the right.
5. Follow the path up and around, careful it gets a bit windy, and you’ll find yourself at a cross roads. Again take the path on the right and follow it all the way up, ignoring a brief intersection which looks as though its another fork in the road.
6. As soon as you see a pathway lined with bear traps, it should be on your left, follow it down to Angi’s farm. Talk to her for a bit, look at the archery book on her bedside cabinet, and then ask her for some free training. You’ll be able to gain six skill points just by completing her tests, which should take around 5 minutes. She’ll even give you a bow when you’re done!

To make it even easier for you we’ve also have a video of the trek, so there shouldn’t be any margin for error.

We know your pain. Finding skill trainers well versed in the area of expertise you want to improve in Skyrim can at times seem maddening. Sure there are lots of NPCs who will help you out for a fee, but they rarely offer exactly what you want. That’s where we come in!

Starting with Archery, we’ll be listing every trainer NPC in Skyrim including what skill they can improve, what level of expertise they possess and more importantly where exactly you can find them.

Faendal

Faendal is a bit of a dope, but he's offers good introductory rates.

Level: Adept (can train up to level 50)

Location: Riverwood

Extra Info: This NPC is very close to the initial spawn point after the introductory dungeon and if you complete the ‘Love Letter to Camilla’ quest in his favour, he’ll give you free session of archery training.

Aela the Huntress

Look for the boat-shaped dwelling.

Location: Whiterun inside the Companion Guild headquarters, known as Jorrvaskr.

Level: Expert (can train up to level 75)

Extra Info: Aela can be found wondering both inside and outside of guild HQ, but she’s always in the main grounds. Be sure to seek her out for training before you attempt the guild quest at Gallows Rock, as she won’t be able to be easily found after that point.

Niriun

Niruin is always practicing.

Location: Inside the Thieves Guild in Riften

Level: Master (can train up to level 100)

Extra Info: The Thieves Guild HQ can be found by entering The Ratways, which is accessible via the northern segment of Riften by the sewers. Once inside head to the Ragged Flaggon and look for a passageway adjacent to the bar. From there head into the Cistern room, run straight ahead and follow the passageway until you see a large room filled with archery targets and a practicing bowman, that’s Nirium. Occasionally he’ll be drinking at the bar, but more times than not he’s perfecting his art on this range.

Angi

If you're good enough meeting Angi can be very worthwhile...

Location: A camp located to the south of Falkreath

Level: Master (can train up to level 100)

Extra info: If you run out of cash training with the aforementioned specialists, this female ranger is definitely worth a visit! She’ll ask you to complete four quick trials, each of which will raise your archery stats and at the end of you’ll be rewarded with a new bow. However getting to her will involve a long-trek up the southern-most mountain in Skyrim which is full of dead-ends, so be sure to know where you’re going; guide forthcoming…

1. 

   "Want a lift?"

   Get to Whiterun, it’s the nearest town to the point where you exit the starter dungeon. Search out the man sat in a horse and cart and ask him kindly to travel to Windhelm. It’ll cost you twenty gold but that’s a much better option than walking across three quarters of the map.

2. 

   Aventus' house

   Walk inside the city, past Candlehearth Hall, and search out an NPC named Suvaris Atheron which is having a discussion with an NPC child. Usually they’ll be talking right outside the house of Aventus Aretino but we’ll get to him in a bit. After you’ve talked to her, she’ll explain a child is trying to carry out a ritual to summon the Dark Brotherhood into town – this is your cue.

3. Head to Aventus Aretino’s house on your map. A quest called Innocence Lost should have popped into your log. Talk to him as he’s enchanting and he’ll tell you he wants to get rid of a mean orphanage owner ironically named Grelod, The Kind. She’s housed in the Honorhall Orphanage in Riften. If you can’t quick travel there after exiting the house, simply exit the city, talk to the man in charge of the horse and cart and he’ll ferry you there for 30 gold.
4. 

   Oh don't worry Grelod, you'll sleep soundly tonight...

   Once  inside the orphanage, located towards the north of town, listen to Grelod bully the children, just so you feel a bit better about the forthcoming murder. Follow her into her office and kill her any way you see fit. She only takes one hit to take down and it’s impossible to do it without the kids seeing, so don’t worry about warping their fragile little minds. As the little urchins talk fondly about their former torturer’s demise, exit the building and fast travel back to Aventus Aretino’s home to tell him the good news.

5. 

   Oh they really do...

   After you’ve made this kid’s Christmas, exit the city and fast forward time two-days by waiting near the main city gate. Once forty-eight hours has flown by in a matter of seconds, a courier will then rapidly approach to give you a letter. This spooky note simply reads, “We Know” with a giant black hand emblem – yay, you’re about to make some new friends. The Dark Brotherhood has noticed you, but now you need to make yourself vulnerable so an agent will emerge.

6. 

   "Oh, you're awake!"

   How you do this is very simple; sleep. Walk back into the city, enter Candlehearth Hall, ask about staying in a room, enjoy the land of nod and you’ll be awoken by an agent of the Dark Brotherhood; thus beginning your internship with the guild. Easy peasy!

Now we would help you with the next bit, but honestly it’s both awesome and self-explanatory, so really you should just experience it for yourself.

• Assassin – stealth archetype which sacrifices some power with the Force in order to gain better hand-to-hand combat efficiency and the ability to dual-wield single-bladed lightsabers.
• Sorcerer – dual-bladed lightsaber user which specialises in Force manipulation. Described by the community as a warrior mage as this class specialisation can absorb a great deal of damage as well as cast out very damaging area of effect spells. Also able to cast healing spells.
