Out of the many boss battles you’ll face in Dragon Age Origins, you’ll come up against Sloth Demon and his Guardians and it can be a very tough battle. Check out our tips on how to defeat him swiftly and efficiently.
The word “Sloth” suggests that this demon will be slow but he’s actually quite quick which can take you by surprise. He’ll change into many forms so you need to be prepared. Sloth Demon starts off in Ogre form. Use an ice spell to freeze him so that he can’t move. Use the Golem to stun him because the prison won’t hold him for very long. He’ll switch to a Rage Demon, prepare you’re ice attacks and blast away! Now’s the time to use Winter Grasp in spirit form.
The third form is Abomination, the easiest one to attack. Just attack him with everything and anything you’ve got. The latter stages are tricky. When Sloth Demon changes into a spirit and summons a blizzard , attack him with the Golem. Have your healer on standby becauase his Blizzard spell will affect the whole party. Group heal immediately if you manage to survive. One tip is to pause the game and queue up healing potions. You need to take him down quickly otherwise the Blizzard attack will soon kill you. Keep him stunned as much as possible.
With Sloth down loot the body of Niall in the room with the Globe to pick up the Litany of Adralla. Keep your eye out for a chest in the room that hides a beef bone for your dog. You’ll face a few demons here. If you focus all of your attention on the Greater Rage Demon with magic, you’ll easily dispatch the rest.
At the end of the ordeal you’ll have a choice to make. A templar will ask you to kill the mages. If you decide to do so Wynne will fight you. Best bet here is to refuse, unless you’re up for another fight. We fancied a rest after facing the Slothe Demon
