Part 3 of this guide helps you conquer Straga and Uriel who vary widely in their difficulty with Uriel proving particularly challenging even in comparison to most of the other bosses in the game, despite not being a real boss.
Straga
Getting to Straga is arguably a more difficult challenge than beating him, what with all of those mirror puzzles. Anyway, now you’re here, you may as well make it easy on yourself.
This fight will make use of the Voidwalker ability as you may suspect as soon as you see the two portal windows on the ground in front of you. What you might not have noticed though is the third portal on Straga’s club. As soon as you can, create a portal on his club
and then make its pair on one of the windows in front of you. When Straga lifts his club over his head make sure you jump into the portal and you will reappear on his back. After the quick time event where you hit him where it hurts, you will leap back to the ground and you can then rearrange his face with your sword.
You then need to battle a hoard of his minions, which shouldn’t cause too much trouble, although you should keep an eye on Straga who will occasionally thump the ground with his fist. You should be able to dash away from danger or if you have two portals open you can skip into one at the last minute.
Once his minions are dead it’s time to paint a portal on his club and repeat your earlier trick. If you don’t manage to do this quickly enough he will swipe his club across the entire arena and that can be difficult to avoid, but doesn’t deal too much damage. Again you will leap back to the ground, inspect his dentures with Chaoseater and then face some minions. The minions will be a slightly tougher mix this time round, but still should not cause a problem.
For a third time paint his club, hit him where it hurts and then smash him in the face; this time he will die.
Uriel
Uriel might only be considered a mid-boss since you don’t get an Achievement or Trophy for beating her, but she deserves a mention as she is quite the challenge. The difficulty of the encounter is more to do with how much health she must have rather and any feats of extreme skill required on your part. She is encountered when you’re on the trail of the ultimate sword and warp to The Dry Road.
To give you a fighting chance make sure you’ve bought a life crystal from Vulgrim, because it’s very likely that Uriel will knock your health all the way to zero before you do the same to her.
There isn’t any great trick to defeating her, but you will need to make use of the dash dodge move each time she winds up for an attack. The attack you need to watch for is
when Uriel launches into the air, which signals either a diving ground pound or a rainstorm of swords. To avoid the ground pounding just keep your distance, but for the raining swords you have to keep moving. After you have inflicted enough damage she will dash at you, triggering a quick time event so be sure to press that button to avoid taking extreme damage.
To speed up the process of defeating her, you can make use of the Blade Geyser attack, which if you’ve fully levelled up, will really help and interrupts some of her attacks. You should also make use of your chaos form, but even this won’t be enough to take her down unless you’ve dealt her significant damage already. With no life gauge for Uriel you just have to keep striking and avoiding her attacks until you finally knock her down.
