This first guide will take you through the strategy required for the first two bosses: Tamiet and The Griever.
Tamiet
Tamiet is a disgusting mix of witch and giant bat and is a surprisingly tough first boss, especially compared to the rest of the games’ bosses.
As quickly as you can you need to pick up one of the bombs and whilst targeting Tamiet with the left trigger throw the bomb and it will hopefully stick to her. Unfortunately
the bombs aren’t primed and so you will need to use the Crossblade to ignite them. To do this line up the flame around the edge of the arena with Tamiet which you get an opportunity to do when she hovers above an arch. Target both the flame and the beast and let fly.
Once the bomb explodes she will crash to the ground and you get a chance to slash her with Chaoseater, but move before she stirs otherwise you will take damage. You will then need to use the dash move to avoid here swooping attacks and get ready to hit her with another bomb. You need to do this quickly, because otherwise fireballs will start raining down and your job gets very difficult.
The rest of the battle she will remain on the ground and alternately swipe, spit fireballs and pound the ground. Ocassioanly there will be a quick time event, which will require some button mashing to avoid taking damage. Between those attacks dash in and get in some of your own and periodically she will collapse and you can really do some damage. After what seems like a very long time she will eventually die.
The Griever
After Tamiet, The Griever is a bit of a cake walk unless you don’t realise the significance of the blue crystal on the monster’s chest.
This fight will involve ramming the railway carriage into The Griever, but you will first need to do some prep. Use your Tremor Gauntlet to break all of the glowing blue crystals that litter the track. This is easier said that done as the boss will be firing an energy beam that tracks you, but also heats up any of the crystals in his line of site. This makes them temporarily indestructable. If you keep moving the crystals will eventually turn back to blue and you will then get your chance.
You will then need to grab the carriage and ram it into The Griever, again using the Tremor Gauntlet. You will need to do this twice in order to stun the beast avoiding the
falling masonry between after the first time. Once the creature is stunned you need to get in there and Tremor Gauntlet the glowing blue crystal on it’s chest.
This will trigger an attack by a swarm of green flying creatures. A lot of these can actually be taken out by your next carriage ram or else just slash them to pieces.
Now every second ramming of the carriage you get to attack to the stunned beast and before you know it the beast is dead.
