Dark Souls is one of the toughest games you’re ever likely to play. Even the low-level characters are tough to beat, but the bosses? Well, they’re in a whole league of their own. Follow this guide for details on strategies and tips to beat the big boys.
The Bell Gargoyles can be found in the Undead Parish. The battle takes place on a roof-top, so the first thing you should be aware off is not rolling off the edges, or getting smacked off! the Gargoyles have a huge range of attacks that are going to require a combination of rolls and blocks.
The Gargoyle wields a heavy axe that will knock your health down significantly if he gets a direct hit. Whenever you see the Gargoyle raise the axe above its head, roll out of the way as you can’t block it. You can block his swing attacks. Watch out for when he breathes fire. He’ll move left to right and you can avoid it by simply staying out of the way.
The first thing you should do is get rid of its tail otherwise he’ll use it to attack you. Slice his tail off with your weapon. Don’t bother attacking him anywhere else until his tail has been taken clean off. You’ll knock off approximately half his health by doing this. When you do this the other gargoyle will join in. Stay focused on one gargoyle at a time and use Gold Pine Resin if you have it. Stay on the move and keep counter attacking after its swung at you. They are both vulnerable to spells.
