Cerberus is a horrific three-headed beast, and to defeat him you must slice off all three of his heads. Because he’s often out of reach, it may not be immediately obvious as to how to kill him, but to succeed Dante must use his environment as a weapon, as well as his Scythe.
Dotted on the floor of the arena are four boulders glowing in orange. They’re fairly easy to spot, and are split between the left and right hand side of the battlefield.
Avoid the souls that Cerberus spits out at you by using the right stick to dash, and you’ll notice that after a while the beast instead attempts to squash you with one of his heads. He’ll attempt to hit you multiple times, and during this attack it’s imperative that pull the appropriate molten rock out of the ground to stun him using the R1 button.
While stunned, use a combination of light and heavy moves to attack him. Hit him enough and you’ll be prompted for a QTE to slice off one of the heads. Repeat the process with the other head.
With only one head remaining, again you must avoid the souls Cerberus spits out at you, but simultaneously attack him using your Holy Cross. Attack him successfully and you’ll be prompted for a QTE which should see the end to this particularly grotesque boss.
