The first couple of sections we have covered are quite simple, but from now on things won’t be quite as easy.
Now that you have learnt a little about yourself from Tenenbaum, it’s time to continue your mission to rescue Eleanor, but first you need to meet Tenenbaum herself at the ticket booth.
As the elevator reaches its destination you will find yourself in a small room, occupied by a Splicer – your arrival startles her into running, but she doesn’t get far, thanks to your next new toy.
Ahead, steps lead up to the Manager’s Office and you will see pulsing beams of light crossing the doorway – these are trap rivets, and your first set is conveniently waiting for you on top of some crates. Help yourself.
Trap rivets, when fired on to a surface, project a beam which, when crossed, trigger the trap causing damage, or even death, to the unfortunate victim.
Thankfully, you cannot trigger the traps, and you can also pick up any you find set in rooms.
Head up the steps, picking up the planted trap rivets from the doorway, and turn left when you are in the Manager’s Office.
Search the bodies and collect the Audio Diary jammed in the filing cabinet drawer.
Go back into the main office and pick up the first aid kit from the supplies box on the left of the door, and search the filing cabinets to the right.
Go through the door and hack the vending machine opposite, then grab the Eve hypo and bottle from the suitcase nearby.
Work your way to the end of the room and through the door to Atlantic Express – be careful as you descend the stairs as there is a Splicer at the bottom, trying to get into the ticket office.
Take out the Splicer and, if they weren’t triggered from the charging enemy, pick up the trap rivets from the floor.
Have a rummage around in the trash cans here for a few items, plus some rivet gun ammo on a bench.
Now, it’s time to meet Brigid Tenenbaum.
Use the action button on the glowing Intercom Switch on the wall to lower the shutters on the ticket booth.
Listen to what she has to say, and see the announcement issued by Sofia Lamb – get ready! Splicers are on the way, and you need to hold them off while Tenenbaum escapes.
The best tactic here is to run back up the stairs, and fire trap rivets along the stairway – equip your rivet gun and use the Switch Ammo button to use them.
Fire them at the side walls so that the beams stretch across, and then wait for the attackers.
Using the old shock/shoot combo, take them out. The trap rivets will hold them back for long enough if you have any difficulty, and there is a small pool of water at the bottom so a well aimed Electro Bolt will fry anything standing there.
Once you have fought off the Splicers head back down the stairs, and collect any left-over trap rivets that weren’t triggered before approaching the left gate.
That last little fight will also earn you the ‘Protector’ achievement.
You will now be introduced to Augustus Sinclair, another person willing to help you out due to a shared hatred of Eleanor Lamb.
Sinclair will ask you to make your way to the train.
Just inside, on the left wall, is a security camera. Hack this from where you are using the remote hacking tool, and make your way around the room collecting the various items there, including an Audio Diary on the bench.
You will also find a Vending Machine and a Health Station here for you to hack.
When you’re done, board the train and pull the lever to start the engine and take a ride to Ryan Amusements.
The way ahead is blocked by ice, so you’re going to have to find a way through – the Incinerate Plasmid which you will find within the amusements, but to get in you’re going to need a ticket.
Objective: Get a Ticket
Exit the train, search the suitcase standing to your left, and then check out the security room ahead for a few more items before heading into Ryan Amusements.
Go up the stairs, and pick up the first aid kit from the table at the top and the Audio Diary.
Hack the vending machine at the end of the corridor, and stock up on anything if necessary. To your left you will see a bunch of items, but they are frozen in ice – we will come back to these later.
Turning right, head into the next room, taking out the Splicer stood on top of the broken clock, then proceed on to the Security Wing on the left.
Work your way through the room, emptying the cash register on the left, and go through the corridors – ignore the guns behind the glass in the Security Inventory.
Use the Power to the People machine ahead to upgrade a weapon – choose the one you tend to use the most here. I went with a boost to the rivet gun damage. This will also earn you another achievement.
Carry on, and down the steps, into the Manager’s Office. Collect the Audio Diary from the table opposite, and the Eve hypo.
Fire your remote hacking tool at the door control panel through the broken glass, and hack the door. Go through, once this is open, and collect your ticket to Ryan Amusements from the desk inside as well as searching the desk for some items.
New Goal: Get into the Park
You now have your ticket to get into the park, but to get your Incinerate Plasmid you will need Adam – it’s time to find yourself a Little Sister.
Head back the way you came, and this time you will find a Splicer breaking in to the Security Inventory. Give him a blast with the Electro Bolt, finish him off with a quick melee attack and then grab your new weapon from behind the glass – the Machine Gun.
Ready your weapons now as you go back to the park entrance. As you exit the Security Wing you will be attacked by several Splicers.
The easiest way to deal with them is use the door as cover, retreating back a little so that it closes giving you a short moment to recover and prepare for the next one.
Electro Bolt to stun, then use either the rivet or machine gun to finish them off. It may be worth preserving your machine gun ammo for now, and sticking to rivets.
Once they’re all dead, and looted, head towards the Ryan Amusements entrance, and pop your ticket into the machine to get in.
New Goal: Find a Little Sister in the El Dorado
As you enter the amusements, you will find yourself in Rapture Museum.
Directly ahead is a Gene Tonic – these are passive enhancements for your body. This one increases your movement speed. Equip it in an empty slot, and head left into the main hallway of the museum.
Head to the central walkway to find an Audio Diary. Collect this, then turn round and look down over the edge – there is a platform below you can jump down to and collect a first aid kit.
Hop down to the floor below, search the crates at the end of the room, and then make your way to the opposite end.
Hack the Heal Station on the wall, and also the item and ammo Vending Machines.
Go up the stairs, which will bring you by the entrance to the El Dorado Lounge, and a Splicer will come running out to attack. Kill the Splicer, and loot the corpse, but don’t go into the Lounge just yet.
Instead, turn back and go into the Gift Shop – you will be attacked by three Splicers as you enter, and a further two will appear when you hack the safe at the back of the room where you will also find an Audio Diary.
Downstairs in the Gift Shop there is an ammo vending machine to hack. Follow the corridor, and go down the stairs, towards the toilets. The Dames is locked – simply fire your Electro Bolt at the door control to get in where you will find some items, another Audio Diary and some new ammo; Heavy Rivets.
Head out of the Gift Shop, and attack the Splicer that has found its way into the Museum, and then go back to the El Dorado Lounge entrance.
Little Eleanor has left you another gift, the Drill Power tonic, equip this and grab the Audio Diary, then carry on through to the El Dorado Lounge.
New Goal: Kill the Big Daddy
Here in the lounge is a Little Sister who you need to get Adam, but first you need to deal with her Big Daddy.
These are bigger, badder and tougher than they were in the original Bioshock, but as you are also a Big Daddy they will not attack unless provoked, so this gives you plenty of time to make your way around the room grabbing the various items and learn the layout. There is also an Audio Diary at the back end of the room.
As you enter the lounge you will find a deactivated Security Bot on the floor. Hack this for a little extra backup during the fight.
A good tactic for this fight is to circle around the centre of the room, keeping the Big Daddy in the middle when possible as you can fire an Electro Bolt at the water on the floor, keeping him stunned.

New Goal: Pick Up a Little Sister
Once you have dealt with the Big Daddy, walk up to the Little Sister, and press the action button to pick her up – it’s time to go Adam gathering, which is where we will start Part 4 of our Bioshock 2 walkthrough.
