It’s one thing fighting against those pesky Big Sisters in the single player campaign, but as soon as you get online it’s a whole other ball game.Check out our beginner tips and strategies for getting off to a good start!
Don’t worry too much about choosing between the six characters available at the start of each game. They may look different and have a slightly different melee weapon, but they perform equally well,
You’ll want to earn upgrades and get your hands on new weapons fast. You’ll earn ADAM during combat which will help you get new items quicker. Here’s a quick rundown of how much ADAM you get for different actions.
Assist a Kill - 5 ADAM
Hack a machine – 5 ADAM
Kill an enemy – 10 ADAM
Research Corpse – 10 ADAM
Collect an ADAM vial – 10 ADAM
Three-in-a-row killing streak- 50 ADAM
Big Daddy Suit - 50 ADAM
You’ll also come across trial awards that will earn you ADAM.
Researching corpses is one of the best ways to get ADAM, just make sure noone is around as you’ll be prone to attack. You can research any bodies that are dead, not just the ones that you killed.
Choose your loadouts wisely before you set out. You’ll have three slots, so it’s preferably to carry a mix of defensive and offensive weapons/items so you can switch quickly when circumstances change.
Becoming a Big Daddy happens if you’ve chosen by the game’s leader, or if you happen to spot one of the suits lying around. This is your best chance! Grab it at every opportunity as it grants you access to new moves, including the powerful STOMP!
Look out for new Plasmids! Some of the plasmids in multiplayer mode weren’t available in single player. The Geyser trap allows you to spring to higher heights, so it’s great for getting around and brilliant for using in a team game where you need to attack a high enemy position.
Use the Houdini plasmid to bamboozle the opposition. You’ll turn invisible for a short period of time and be able to take any enemy by surprise.
Be careful when approaching vending machines. They are colour-coded so check the light on the side. Blue = friendly. White = hackable. Red = a trap!
Keep an eye out for proximity mines. They’ll appear as yellow objects on the floor. You can blow these up to create a safe passage.
