One of the toughest battles that you’ll face in Bayonetta is when you square up against the almighty Jeanne for the final time. The fights against her before this one have been a breeze compared to now as she’s stronger and more powerful then ever. If you don’t want to get your ass kicked, we’ve got some tips that should give you an advantage in battle and help you to beat her once and for all.
- During Chapter 14 – Isla De Sol create a new save point at a time where you have plenty of items at hand. You can beat Jeanne without items , but having a few health items to turn to when the going gets tough eliminates some of the pressure. If you die while fighting Jeanne you’ll want to revert back to the time where you had these items so you can tackle her again at full strength.
- Watch out for enviromental hazards. Stay focused and watch out for the on-screen prompts during the cut-scene at the beginning of the fight. If you manage to press Y and B at the right time you’ll send a missile back at her which explodes. You’re off to a great start!
- Don’t attack her for prolonged periods. She’ll break through your attacks and dish out some heavy punishment. The final battle against Jeanne is all about self-control, timing, focus, good defence and measured attacks.
- Don’t even bother using your hand-guns, they’re useless against Jeanne’s superior defence. If you’ve bought the The Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa use it! Tap your analog stick toward an incoming attack the moment the attack hits you.
- Don’t just charge at her. Keep on the move and stay out of her line of attack. The less Jeanne hits you the more chance you’ll have of surviving. Just time your dodges right and look out for queues as to when to dodge.
- Pick the right time to attack when you spot an opening in her defence. Patience and focus is the key.
- Watch out for the glowing red light that indicates when Jeanne is about to execute a Wicked Weave attack. Dodge these and you’ll be able to activate Witch Time giving you some pressure seconds to rain down some blows.
- Take everything that you’ve learnt from previous battles with Jeanne and apply them here, you’re going to have to stay totally focused throughout. At first it seems like an impossible task to beat her, but don’t panic. Watch, wait, move and pounce.
