Battlefield Bad Company 2 – Vehicle Guide – Aircraft

In the third part of our guide on vehicles, we look at Aircraft and the role that helicopters play in Bad Company 2 mutiplayer. Plus we give you some handy tips on how to use them effectively.

Aircraft

AH60 Black Hawk

Equipped - Yes, 2 x gunners have 5.56mm mini-gun

Seats - 1 driver, 2 gunner, 2 passengers

The US troop transport helicopter is the perfect vehicle for bringing troops on en masse to a set location.  It’s far better if your passengers jump out of the Black Hawk and parachute down to their destination. On the way down you might be able sight hot-spots and ensure that you don’t land smack bang in the middle of them.

The mini-guns are very powerful and can blast though light vehicles and buildings so use them at every opportunity. As with all helicopters, it’s wise to get a pilot who knows what he’s doing to fly it. With a good pilot you’ll rack up plenty of points as a team as you get down low,  hover over your enemies and use your skills to evade enemy fire.

MI28  “Havok” Attack Chopper

Capture control points swiftly

Equipped - Yes, 30mm cannon and anti-tank rockets

Seats - 1 driver, 1 gunner

Small fire-arms won’t bring this Russian chopper down and it’s sheer speed is ideal for getting out of sticky situation or getting somewhere fast. Use the red target reticule to shoot rockets. this is also a great vehicle to use for winning control points by hovering over the flag. If you do get shot down you’ve only lost 2 players.
They’re called anti-tank rockets for a reason so use them to target and elimintate tanks on the ground! Always keep moving, that way you’re harder to hit.

AH64 – Apache Attack Helicopter

Equipped - Yes, 70mm rockets and 30mm chaingun

Seats - 1 driver, 1 gunner

This US anti-armour chopper is extremely quick and ideal for zipping around enemy territory taking out infantry before moving swiftly out of sight.  If the pilot circles the aircraft you’ll get an excellent view of the whole area and can then decide on which area offers the most chance of  causing maximum damage.

MI24 – Hind Chopper

Equipped - Yes, 30mm auto cannon and rockets

Seats - 1 driver, 1 gunner, 2 passengers

This Russian gunship it another vehicle ideal for transporting troops in groups and the two passengers can also use their weapons when in flight. Don’t point the nose of the vehicle to low, aim it directly toward your target when you fire. Fly as an engineer that way you’ll be able to repair any damage to your helicopter in the sky.

UAVs

Use red reticule to target enemies

Familiarise yourself with the maps to find command consoles letting you control an armed mini helicopter  remotely.  These nifty little devices are available on both the US and Russian sides and let you rain down missile strikes on set targets. Tag enemy for your allies to see and choose wisely before firing, concentrating the reticule firmly on the target until point of impact. Tanks are always a good target.
