There are many logical challenges that you’ll have to solve during Assassin’s Creed II, from deciphering passwords to picture identification puzzles. Check out Part One of our guide to solving every puzzle in the game. Spoiler Warning!
We kick off with Puzzles 1-10. Click on the link on the bottom of the page for puzzles 11-20.
1. In The Beginning
What do you need to do? Simply choose the paintings that contain apples.
Solution – 3, 5, 6, 7, 9 (There are two rows of five. The top row is classed as 1-5 and the bottom row 6-10.)
2. Sixty-Four Squares
What do you need to do? Rotate wheels to complete pictures of George Washington, Napoleon and Queen Elizabeth I.
Solution – Start off with the inner ring. The centre point is a key. Just work your way outwards.
3. Descendants
What do you need to do? Find a piece of Eden in three pictures
Solution – 1. The left edge of Roosevelt’s desk. 2. Just to the right of water tank below Houdini. 3.On top of Ghandi’s walking stick
4. Infinite Knowledge
What do you need to do? Search for hidden images in the three pictures
Solution – Picture 1: In the barrel of the weapon held by the soldier. 2. The helmet of the soldier across the street. 3. Apple held by the figure in the top right hand corner.
5. Instruments of Power
What do you need to do? Choose pictures where people are carrying swords and a staff
Solution – Swords – 2,3, 6, 8,9. Staff – 3,6,9,10
6. Brothers
Picture 1 – Move Ring 1 twice to the left
Move Ring 2 three times to the right
Move Ring 4 once to the right
Move Ring 5 three times to the right
Rotate Ring 3
Picture 2
Rotate Ring 1 three times to the left
Rotate Ring 3 once to the left
Rotate Ring 4 four times to the left
Rotate Ring 5 once to the right
Rotate Ring 2
Picture 3
Rotate Ring 1 three times to the left
Rotate Ring 3 once to the right
Rotate Ring 4 five times to the left
Rotate Ring 5 once to the left
Rotate Ring 2
Picture 4
Rotate Ring 3 once to the right

Puzzle 7: Keep on seeking, and you shall find
What do you need to do? Choose four pictures that contain a red cloth and one that has a snake wrapped around a tree.
Solution – 1,2,3,5,6
Puzzle 8: Martyrs
Solution – Choose the staff in picture 1. The sword in picture 2. Then move your pointer into the flame and carry it to Joan of Arc. Combine the first two pictures.
Puzzle 9: Hat-Trick
Follow the heart-beat signal. Choose the piece of Edge on Ghandi’s Chest and on the body of Houdini. The password is 312.
Puzzle 10: Apollo
Puzzle 1
Solution – Select the lunar lander at the bottom of the screen, which sits just to the left hand side of the moon.
Puzzle 2
Solution – Rotate Ring 5 six times to the left
Rotate Ring 2 four times to the left
Rotate Ring 4 three times to the left
Rotate Ring 3 five times to the left
Rotate Ring 1
Puzzle 3
Solution – Obtain the piece of Eden in the shadow on the left hand side of the Astronaut.
