Ever wondered what the four playing alien slaying carnage looked like from any perspective other than the overhead view?
Well, boy do we have a solution for you. In order to transform Alien Swarm in a first person shooter, simply follow the instructions below:
Enable it here.
1. First up you need to enable the console in options. Look for the keyboard menu and check the option, “Enable Developer Console”
2. Start a new offline game, or find a server online if you know supports cheats.
3. Now open the console by pressing the ‘ (tilde key, located to the left of the “1” key.)
4. Type sv_cheats1 and press return.
5. Type firstperson and press return.
An intimate survival experience
6. Now type asw_hide_marine 1 and press return, then enter the final all- important command asw_controls 0, press return and voilà! Alien Swarm from a brand new, much gorier perspective.
If you’d like to return the game to normal simply exit out and reboot.
