The second part of our Episode 1 guide focuses on your arrival at the creepy town of Bright Falls. In the walkthrough we’ll also show you how to find all the collectibles on this level.
Welcome To Bright Falls

- Find Carl Stucky who has the keys to your holiday cabin.
You’re on your way to Bright Falls where you hope to spend a relaxing vacation on the car ferry with your wife Alice. She’ll ask you to pose for the camera. Simply face her while she takes some photos and listen the old man on deck. When prompted to get back to the car, move to your car and press B. You’re now arrive in Bright Falls. As you arrive at the ‘Oh Deer Diner’ to pick up the keys to your holiday retreat check out the area behind the bar where the waitress is standing, you’ll find a Thermos Flask. If you move by the guy with an eye patch who is sitting on the left hand table in the diner he’ll talk to you and ask you to put number 6 on the jukebox. Move to the jukebox behind him and press the action button, you’ll then have to give the jukebox a slap by tapping A, the first of many context sensitive actions that you’ll have to pull off. Harry Nillsson’s Coconut (made famous in Reservoir Dogs) will start playing – great song! You’ll hear a bit of Roy Orbison later on in this section too.
You now need to find Stucky. At the back of the diner there’s a corridor where the lights have blown. Go down the corridor and knock on the far left hand door, the gent’s toilet. An old hag with black teeth will answer and hand you over the keys. Hmmm… don’t trust her at all. Leave the diner. Just go back the way you came, you’ll have to wait a little while until Alice pulls up outside in her car. Get in the key and feel the shiver go up your spine as you see Carl Stucky come running out of the diner as you speed off. He has the keys to your cabin in his hand. So what are these keys that the old woman gave us?
- Go To Cabin
Don’t cross the bridge yet. Head back up the mountain path until you reach your car. In front of it on the wooden planks you’ll see a Thermos Flask. Back down the path and across the bridge toward Bird Leg Cabin. Enter the cabin. It’s dark and here but you have your flashlight to guide you around. If you head into the kitchen you’ll see a Thermos Flask on the left hand cabinet. If you move right through the cabin and out of the back door onto the balcony you’ll also find the first radio station collectible just at the top of the steps. You now need to find a way to turn on the lights.
Go back out to the decking where you first arrive. To your left you’ll see a shed. Head to the shed and you’ll take part in a mini-game when you activate the generator. You simply have to stop the cog when it moves past the green section. This kick starts the generator and turns the lights on. Head back to the cabin. On the way back examine the tree stump, there’s an etching on there. Go and see Alice, she’s upstairs in the bedroom scantily clad – like it.She has a surprise for you. Head into the room opposite and you’ll see a typewriter. Cut scene kicks in.
- Get to Alice
Oh God it’s getting scary. Alice is screaming. It’s all dark and you’re all of a sudden outside the cabin. Run across the bridge toward the cabin, you’ll be attacked by a group of ravens. You can wave your torch in their direction to scare them off. Keep running and get into the cabin. Cut scene kicks in.
Coffee Thermos 1 – At the back of the bar where the waitress is standing in the “Oh Deer Diner.”
Coffee Thermos 2 – Head back to your car up the mountain path before you cross the bridge to your cabin. The flask is in front of your car
Coffee Thermos 3 – In the kitchen in your cabin, on the left hand cabinet
