Crackdown 2 – How to use the Wingsuit

Published on July 5th, 2010

As ’s narrator says, the Wingsuit is easy to learn but difficult to master, and you’ll need a little bit of practice if you ever hope to get the City Glider, Wingsuit Racer and Squad City Glider Achievements. But it is possible! Here are our tips on how to use the Wingsuit effectively.

Crackdown 2 – How to use the WingsuitThe Wingsuit unlocks when you reach Agility level five, and at its very basic level lets you glide short distances from rooftop to rooftop, simply by pressing the Y button at the peak of your jump to activate the suit. If you don’t press anything on the left stick you’ll continue to glide horizontally at a steady pace. Push up and you’ll dive, push down and you’ll slightly ascend.

On your first few attempts chances are you’ll only manage to stay in the air for a few seconds. But once you get the knack of it, the suit will allow you to cross massive distances without ever touching the ground.

First of all, position yourself somewhere relatively high. We recommend the top of the Agency Tower. Jump off and activate the Wingsuit at the peak of your jump, before pushing up on the left stick to nosedive. As soon as the trail behind you starts turning red pull down on the left stick to pull yourself back up. The trail will turn blue. Once the trail starts to fade, push up again on the right stick, and repeat the process. Check out the video below for a visual aid.

Once you get a feel for the rhythm you’ll be taking an aerial tour of Pacific City in next to no time – and unlocking those achievements along the way!
