BioWare's Dr. Greg Zeschuk has admitted to being tempted by the idea of a DS MMO, if the back-end technology of the 3DS could support it.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Zeschuk said "We always joked about a DS MMO at some point. It would be brilliant. But the problem is it's not patchable. That's the thing I've learned working on MMO stuff. You have to be able to update. But it would be a pretty cool concept."
And then when prompted to talk about the 3DS' rumoured increase in online integration, he replied. "Yeah. And that opens up those kinds of windows. And suddenly, even just imagine that."
The rest of the interview talks about BioWare's shift in focus to a broader portfolio of games, encompassing its traditional 'big games' with smaller, more sustainable IP across mobile platforms and Flash.
