Nintendo is primed to reveal release dates and prices for the 3DS in September according to Bloomberg Japan.
An event scheduled for September 29th is expected to shed light on a release date and price for the 3DS.

This has been a trend for Nintendo: to reveal new hardware at E3 and follow up with launch details in September.
This means we could expect to see the final design of the 3DS premier at the event.
Nintendo confirmed at this year's E3 the new handheld would be on shelves in most regions by the end of March 2011.
