3DS sea-faring horror Resident Evil: Revelations will not be supporting co-op gameplay according to the game’s producer.
“You can see the game is very focused on that horror atmosphere, so it’s not made for co-op play,” said Resident Evil producer Masachika Kawata speaking with Eurogamer.
“We’re focusing on the single-player this time.”
Resident Evil is set to hit the 3DS next month with the release of The Mercenaries 3D, a point-scoring game which uses a similar engine and control scheme, that will support co-op over Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.
In Revelations, players will play series’ favourite Jill Valentine as she explores a ship in search of old partner Chris Redfield.
Capcom revealed a new partner for Jill last week named Parker Luciani leading some to believe Revelations could be played co-op.
Resident Evil: Revelations launches on Nintendo 3DS next year.
