Nintendo of America president has weighed in on consumer expectation that a redesign of the newly-released Nintendo 3DS is coming in the near future.
MTV’s Russ Frushtick spoke with Reggie Fils-Aime on the night of the North American Nintendo 3DS launch where he explained that the Nintendo 3DS would be a key business driver for the next 12 months.
"It’s interesting. We haven’t even sold the first one and consumers are asking about what’s next," explained Fils-Aime. "I answer it this way. The 3DS is our key handheld device. It is going to be our key business driver for the balance of this year, through the holidays."
Reggie did suggest however that those with concerns should make use of Best Buy’s program which insures your system isn’t obsolete.
"Not that the Nintendo 3DS will ever be obsolete!" added Reggie. "But certainly it’s not something that consumers need to be concerned about."
